Totally agree with this for all three tie-breaker teams. This is an NGLL problem, and exhibit A why this is all nothing more than an insane money grab. NGLL doesn't care, they published a bracket that was wrong, and now everyone is pissed.

Since you are convinced you’re so clever, I suggest you start your own thread and add these Hoco 34 quips there. Will give you a great venue to get them out of your system. The title “Hilarious Hoco 34 Truisms” would work.

But how does that make it a money grab?

I thought people were saying they published a correct bracket, but changed their minds on then switched it? Or now are people saying it was wrong and current state is correct?

If it was correct initially, M&D DC 2034 probably should have just done what this thread is saying M&D 2035 Black did—said that sucks and then decided what else they could do with their freed up Saturday. 🍻

There is not a head to head comparison if the head to head did not exist. M&D LOST to teams Legends beat (but that doesn’t matter).
Legends was within 1 of FLC and M&D lost to FLC by 12. (but that also doesnt matter). You can make your own rules up but until there is a Head/Head between M&D and BLC you can’t use that rule. Hard to argue that a 40 point Goals Allowed difference doesnt demonstrate a team’s overall performance but, oh wait it does matter. Specifically since thats how the rules were written and have been applied!

The same thing happened in 2035 - BLC, MD Black and MD DC. BLC LOST to MD DC but MD black didnt play either of them. They threw out number 2 bc they did not all play each other. So they went to GA, which is how BLC ended on top, followed by MD Black and then MD DC.

I agree that is unfortunate but that is how the rules are laid out. And why the COMPUTERS took the rules, the scores and spit out brackets that had to be “fixed” when parents didn’t like the outcomes.

Either way, teams, and especially 9-10 year old girls are not to blame. NGLL needs to decide on how they want to address so it moving forward doesn’t leave rules open to feelings of wrongdoing.

This is a long post for someone that doesn’t even have a basic understanding of the situation. What do you mean M&D DC didn’t play BLC?

M&D DC, BLC, and Legends were all 4-4.

M&D DC beat BLC 14-8 head to head.
M&D DC beat Legends 9-7.

What is the argument for either BLC or Legends getting in over M&D DC?

No - the current bracket is correct. The previous bracket had mistakenly left M&D out. People are upset that the error was corrected because it had already been published and the other teams had thought they were in.

What! I thought the whole start of the chat about this here was that M&D DC complained that the way the rules ended up working here was unfair and NGLL caved and made a change which was not in real accordance with the rules but was considered, by some, more fair. Some even suggested they were doing that because it was an M&D club team.

If it’s just a situation of a mistaken bracket posted, which was fixed, then that’s something different than what I thought we were talking about. If the bracket was a mistake, definitely M&D DC should’ve complained, or anyone who noticed.

Can we not call M&D DC just “M&D”. It’s confusing—and inaccurate.

To the person who said the 35s three-way tie for the final playoff spot involved M&D DC, it didn’t. It was M&D, BLC and Integrity.

Above, meant final two ‘35 playoff spots. Three way tie to see which two of three went in.

Correct - this is what happened. This entire argument is ludicrous.

So somehow the brackets just randomly got “confused” in a singular division?

People are willing to believe anything these days - as long as they can have their desired outcome. NGLL just didnt “accidentally” place Legends in 7th, BLC in 8th, and MD DC in 9th. Can we stop pretending like Little Miss Lacrosse got confused on her typewriter or overwhelmed by the math and made a data entry error??? NGLL created a FORMULA based on THEIR rules that meant once they dropped data into the database, it produced seeded brackets based on the data (rules and results) given.

M&D DC objected to that bracket, appealed and NGLL accepted without question. We can debate fairness or what “should” happen in the future but this was not a rounding or data entry error as some suggest. There was an approved bracket and schedule that was released (to 9-10year old girls) that was challenged by angry parents. NGLL caved, edited brackets and pretended it never happened.

Stop making it seem like it was a course correction or go through all of the divisions and come back to the group and tell us how this has never happened before, it is just not true. And it shoukd be fixed. Not for m&d, not for blc, not for legends but for the integrity of the league.

Can’t you just apply the pre-existing rules to know if it was a mistake and correction versus an exception?

To the immediate PP, are you acknowledging it’s now a correct order but saying you think if it’s posted incorrectly initially it should be locked in because it was posted and kids saw it?

And they have a terrible reputation ON and off the field. Those girls are coached to intentionally foul (and do weird stuff like bark), and they're not fun games to watch because there is a penalty/yellow card on HOCO every 10 seconds. I have several daughters in the NGLL, and have never seen a team as out of control as that team. It's not fun to see it happen against girls that young. The majority of the 2034s played up in second grade which is why the older HOCO teams aren't as good. I'm not disputing they have good players, it's just sad they're being coached to play dirty as 4th graders. Teach them how to win the right way.

They are coached to physically and mentally and dominate opposing players.
I am sorry your daughter was negatively impacted.
That is how the game is played.

Yeah and I have to say, we got trounced by Hoco but when my daughter came off the field, she said, “they were actually really nice, a lot nicer than some of the other teams.”

Yeah, no way that story is true. The crazy HOCO 34 coach teaches her girls to growl and bark like dogs at the other team. No one is leaving the field thinking they are nice girls
