2. So, he went to a hockey game afterwards. A team won Gold who was representing the USA.

Is it a good look? Maybe not. But, it is not illegal or unethical.

If a public servant is on official travel, funded by the U.S. taxpayer, there are in fact regs governing behavior, activities and gifts the public servant may receive.

Yep and Patel would know that if he took his annual ethics training like the rest of us Feds. Damn these people make me so angry villainizing Feds left and right when they’re the real villains. Disgusting.

Your jealousy is showing.

He was invited by the team. He is a big hockey fan. This was not "official." His meetings with the security people were official.

He didn't have meetings with security people and he used government resources to get to and from Milan.

What is your source for this?

And, you do know that it is a REQUIREMENT for the FBI director to travel on an FBI plane? Even when on vacation. This has been true for a number of years.

We'd be so much better off if Kash were a dweeb. No, Kash was the asswipe who stuffed dweebs into lockers.

The only requirement is that it is okay with Trump. I guess you still think there are rules in place. How naive. Oh maybe the inspector general can get involved…lol!

You ever notice all the people walking around in team sports gear? Most of them don’t play for those teams. Maybe it’s lowbrow, but Kash is behaving like the majority of the population.

That was always the “knock” on democracy.

Wearing your home team's jersey =/= going into the lcoker room and taking their beer and gold medal for yourself on camera. Agree?

Yes. No one who hasn't won a medal has ever tried it on! And, you do not know much about sports if you think he was wearing a real team jersey.

DP. Does the requirement that the FBI director travel on an FBI plane include personal travel? For example, these trips that he took with the FBI plane?

*attended a pro-wrestling event where girlfriend Alexis Wilkins performed/sang the national anthem at Penn State. Jet then flew her home to Nashville, TN, the next day.
*flew to a side trip to "Boondoggle Ranch," a luxury private hunting resort in Texas (hosted by a GOP donor/friend).
*flew to to Stewart International Airport for an FBI charity hockey event; next day to JFK to watch Alex Ovechkin break the NHL goals record from luxury box seats (next to Wayne Gretzky).
*flew with "four or five friends" for a private golf excursion in Scotland.

The director of the FBI should not be behaving in such a disgraceful manner. The FBI is a serious agency, with deadly serious work. The current director is badly damaging its image.

For shame.

Oh, yes. Shame on him! So disgraceful to congratulate and celebrate with our American Gold Medal winning hockey team!

Shame on you for being such a giant fool.

This was the 1936 Olympics in reverse. Glad we know which side these rich, spoiled athletes are on.

How many Nazis solutes were given?

The answer is "yes." No commercial or private planes for any travel. I've no idea about the extra people on the flight, but that is the rule for him.

FWIW, didn't Michelle Obama take a trip with a bunch of friends on plane to Africa? I remember, because I got caught in traffic when their bus from the airfield was returning to DC.

What do the rules for the spouse of a sitting President have to do with Patel? Are they likely to be the same?
I’ll look it up, but I sort of remember one of the Obamas talking about things that they had to pay for, so it’s likely that if the trip was for recreation, Michelle and her friends had to pay something — although not the cost of the entire trip. (Maybe the cost of what tickets would be on a commercial airline?)

Kidnapping a FLOTUS would be a real problem for the U.S.

But Patel does so little work,i dont think it would matter in the least of anyone took him.
