Do military personnel see Americans as military combatants in this situation and use lethal force?

I see a lot of veterans marches in protest of Trump. I think that they know their allegiance is to the country.

Also, the Marines are a combined 35% black/hispanic.

The % of military that thinks illegal aliens are a wonderful addition to our country is very small.

We're not spending billions and billions and billions of dollars a year to train this awesomely powerful military to go beat on school kids and home Depot workers or even the few jackasses who are throwing bricks.

United States Marines versus brick throwers for god sakes? That is ridiculous. Marines are trained to be a powerful fighting force, not babysit Los Angeles. Get them out of Los Angeles.

This.
But Trump loves getting out all “his” toys.

Too bad he didn't do that during the actual insurrection at the Capitol on Jan 6 . Maybe he's learned his lesson. /S LOL

I agree. Sending troops may have escalated the situation but who was protecting the rank and file ICE folks trying to process people brought in for deportation? Let’s assume for now that they were not Willy nilly going to deport them without vetting.

I hope sanity prevails aoon but I fear it won’t. Both major parties need this kind of thing to continue over the next four years to keep their bases engaged. Both are wrong and both encourage breaking the law — and exploits migrant workers. Meanwhile, without proper vetting we don’t know if we’re letting in people who wish to destroy America on one hand, and on the other if we deporting citizens.

The situation is farcical and harmful.

Are the marines there yet?

It's quite simple. You do not block Federal officials from going about their lawful duty.

Democrats can't point to J6 and then claim T is wrong in LA. You can't cherry pick. This isn't fueling the fire or escalating. The problem is the rioters. End of.

I’m sure that you can back that up, right?

J6 they STORMED the capitol and killed people in attempted coup.

vs

This was peaceful protest- a constitutional right.

Not the same. End of.

They should use cellphone positioning to ID every single protestor.

Then they should immediately have their social security docked, SNAP benefits frozen, and all other forms of govt assistance revoked. Freeze their student loans.

Sick and tired of these violent insurrectionists blocking the govt from being able to do its job of deporting criminals. The country voted for it and gave Trump the mandate. California doesn't have to like it, but they have to respect the will of the people. Crack down on the insurrectionists.

So go after rioters, leave the majority peaceful protestors alone. Trump is deliberately inflaming the situation, and the fact remains, the protests are largely peaceful. This is all Project 2025 playbook stuff, and now he gers to time it to distract us from the bill abomination, the vote irregularity lawsuit, and his special times with Epstein. It’s all very convenient, but it’s very very transparent.

I mean, seriously, these pusbags have gotten so bad that LA County is having to deploy armed personnel to keep ICE bounty hunters out of SCHOOLS.

Send ice to do their ugly masked deportations for all the voters that voted for them to do that. They're not going to find citizens as upset about it because they agree with it.

Trump goes into harass Los Angeles because he's a middle school baby intentionally picking a fight. And then as usual, having complete disrespect for the military and the people that volunteer to fight in it, trying to use them to fight your stupid middle school fight.

Send ice into Texas into Florida where they belong.

When you make false assumptions you get illogical conclusions.

That's right! Only Trump and his administration and his brownshirts are allowed to be criminals!

All those LA insurrectionists should hold their celebrations in the Captio Rotunda and sing homilies about hanging the Vice President, like good patriots!

It's funny how election results only count when the voting machines are secretly tampered before the election and report millions of extra votes for Trump from mysterious people who don't vote for any Republicans in Congress.

Millions of Americans have served to prevent US military use against American citizens from happening. It would be a horrifying insult to every person that has ever served in the armed forces.
If American citizens are breaking the law and damaging property my tax dollars built and maintain then I say to the Marines, “Kick their stinking lawless brains out.”

Were you screaming this at the tv on January 6, 2021? I didn't think so.

I'm disgusted with the destruction and looting we see in city in riots and I support any degree of law enforcement necessary to prevent such destruction and looting but I was even more upset at what I saw on Jan 6, 2021. If a legitimate president had been in office on Jan 6th, 2021, a massive security force would have put the event to rest within minutes of the attempted security breach on our Capitol considering the post 9/11 world we live in.

Welcome to USA!

Under our Constitution, USA law enforcement does not prevent destruction. Law enforcement only deters destruction by investigating crimes and making arrests.
