The bears and stags should play this Thursday or Friday .

They’re understandably reaching. DeMatha is better than they’ve been for a while, certainly since before covid and it’s great the coaching carousel has stopped on a good one. Definitely top 5 in the DMV. And good for them, good for DMV lax. But as objectively as it gets without an actual head to head, Landon is decidedly the better team this year.

DeMatha will be a shell of itself next year. Landon chose to not play DeMatha this year for a reason.

This is how an inter-conference would've looked this year
Landon v Gonzaga - Landon won
GPrep v SJC - Hypothetical SJC win
Bullis v GC - Hypothetical Bullis win
EHS v Paul VI - EHS won
SSSAS v DM - Hypothetical DM win
STA v Heights - STA won
IAC wins 4-2

This is how it will look next year
Landon v DM
Bullis v SJC
GP v GC
STA v GZ
EHS v PVI
SSSAS v STMR

You are correct. Landon chose to play the 2024 WCAC champion rather than the 6th place team.

Bullshit.

Landin was beating DeMatha last year 10-1 at halftime . It was embarrassing.

Maybe your new coach should have reached out.

DM and Landon should have played this year but who knows the reason why they didn’t. Maybe it was the new coach. Who knows? I know DM parents, me included, would have liked to have played that game instead of playing the public school Northern. The face off battle this year would have been awesome. As for next year, DM will not be good. Landon should not waste their time scheduling them. The only good players who return for DM are the FOGO, sophomore attack and one maybe two middies. Two senior committed attackman graduate. The defense will all be new. You can’t easily replace that close d who are all committed. The goalie play will drop tremendously as the two committed senior goalies graduate. The current junior and sophomore backup goalies need a lot of work. As for the final standings, most DM parents dont care. We are happy not losing in the semifinals of the WCAC as what happened in the past years. The last time DM played in a WCAC championship was in 2016. So we are just enjoying this season and how special it is. DM finally beat SJC and GZ in what seems like forever. Lord knows when DM will be in the conversation again regarding the top 3 teams in the DMV. Hopefully DM brings home the WCAC trophy on Monday night.

The MSM fogo has gotten better but really stands no chance against either of Landons 2 headed fogos

Why should Landon and Dematha played this year. Dematha finished 6th last year. Are you suggesting that Landon just hold open a few dates for teams that are having promising seasons to throw them in last minute?

Or are you saying coaches should do a full roster analysis of every team on the east coast to see who would be worth playing.

Next year they will schedule Dematha because they are long time rivals and Dematha will stink, and this board will lose its mind over the soft scheduling.

Landon and DeMatha played each other the last 3 years in a row. Two of those years was a 1 goal game and the other was a 13-9 win for the Bears. Landon knew it had a weaker team this year than last. They skipped DeMatha for a reason and were right to do so.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much. Last 4 years of Landon's schedule went: DeMatha, DeMatha, DeMatha, Riverside. Why did Landon suddenly decide to switch from a competitive game to a public school cupcake?

Oh, absolutely—it’s totally plausible that Landon reached out and the new coach just… ghosted him. I mean, why would you bother replying to a respected, experienced coach making a professional gesture? Who needs basic courtesy when you’re busy reinventing the wheel? But hey, all of this is just wild speculation—just like all the other painfully bad takes about who ducked whom.

You should be proud. DM has a reputation for tough teams in all sports. Great lacrosse history. Hopefully DM can keep it going.
