Well. It’s not their “fault” but having a US Citzen child is not and should not be a way for those without legal status to remain in the US. So, they must go.

The open cruelty on this board still astonishes me.

I would never sneak into another country illegally, have a baby, and then expect the country to allow me to stay because my child happened to be born there. We’ve lost the plot.

Literally our entire country was built on people emigrating for a better life.

Except when our current President feels like pardoning the terrorists who killed law enforcement officers on January 6 at the Capitol. Those killer lawbreakers are deserving of Trump’s mercy but not a cancer stricken American kid .

Honestly I think we’ve created a situation of learned helplessness. We’ve expected so little from parents that they aren’t doing some basic basic stuff.

Yes, "there but for the Grace of God go I" definitely doesn't apply here! WE would have been smarter, better prepared, able to handle anything and we NEVER make choices that don't work out.

Oh, and also let's punish the fellow CIITIZEN CHILD because the parents didn't have the BRAINS and MORALS we would have to get our child CANCER TREATMENT THE RIGHT WAY.

She’s only a citizen because her parents snuck here illegally and had anchor babies. I also guarantee she does not have any insurance and the family is not actually paying for her care. The US taxpayers are.

Yeah, screw those sick anchor babies! They’re just dragging down our society.

You’re so right! Why don’t we just pay for all the cancer treatment for every living being in earth!! Why stop here????

Or US citizens, which this child is, just not up to your standards.

No. I also do not agree that all US Citizens should have free healthcare.

Citation that she’s receiving free healthcare and doesn’t have insurance? Just fanfiction?

How would the parents who have no legal status enroll in health insurance in this country?

The parents don’t need to have insurance to enroll their U.S. Citizen child in health insurance. Why on earth would you think that?

You mean free health insurance? Paid for by US taxpayers? Or you think undocumented produce pickers (per several news articles) are PAYING for their kids to have health insurance? GMAFB.

So, is your contention that she doesn’t have insurance and is receiving free care, or that she’s insured but somehow not entitled to the same Medicaid benefits as any other U.S. citizen because you’re mad at her parents? Could you pick one?

My contention is that her parents who came here illegally to then pop out 6 kids are not paying a dime for any of their medical care. Clear enough for you?

Like the laws allowing ownership of slaves? And the laws allowing theft of Native American lands? Yup you’re right.

That is utter BS. I can’t stand this disingenuous response. If I was starving, or being threatened by gang members, or running from a dictatorship, I would do anything for my kids and family including crossing illegally. During the Afghan war the college I worked for brought Afghan students in and 3-4 defected one night. I would have done the same!

If you wouldn’t, you’re weak, a terrible mother, and/or lying.

If you enter a country, (or ANY place for that matter), illegally...there are likely to be consequences. The parents had been here illegally for over a decade & did nothing to remedy that situation. The results of the choices they made are of their own making.

If you were facing death, disease, crushing poverty, yes, yes you would cross into another country illegally. It’s what your ancestors did when they illegally stole this land from native Americans.

Illegally? What law was broken?
Native Americans are not native, they emigrated from East/North Asia.
Who were your anscestors? I guarantee you they stole land and/or were involved in slavery.
Since you're living on stolen property, doesn't that make you complicit? Or, have you returned it to its rightful owner?

Do you believe none of the parents of anyone receiving Medicaid ever did anything illegal?

You are making a great case for dropping birthright citizenship.

Cool. Your guy already tried that and lost in court. Try a constitutional amendment.

Until then, people are citizens even if you’re mad at their parents. Feel comforted in the fact that U.S. taxpayers fund the healthcare of 67.3M Americans over 65 and you probably don’t agree with the decisions all of their parents made either.

I'm pretty sure the case is making its way to the SCOTUS.

I believe every American citizen should have free healthcare but birthright citizenship has to go.

Cool, this child is an American citizen and even if birthright citizenship “goes”, she will still be a citizen because she was born prior to the executive order. So now you’re good with her receiving healthcare for free in the United States and I’m glad you’ve become more comfortable with treating a young child humanely.

You wish. Our country was born out of a completely illegal revolution. One that even was thought to defy the law of God.

Ahhh yes. When Elon Musk doesn’t do things the legal way we put him in charge of firing the federal workforce.

But when these parents do not follow the complicated and expensive immigration system this child should lose access to cancer treatment.

MAGA culture is so disgusting.

Unlike those parents, Elon Musk became a citizen LEGALLY 20 years ago.

Those parents had over a decade to become citizens, but chose not to do so.

Over a million people each year enter legally that have followed the "complicated and expensive" immigration system (THE LAW) because it's a privilege, NOT A RIGHT. How would you justify the millions of illegals and the plethora of perks they receive to those who followed the "complicated and expensive" immigration system (THE LAW)...often for years?

Elon Musk is not in charge of firing the federal workforce.

We can't save leftist culture/cultists, but we will save the country from you.

Apparently all those J6 rioters didn’t get the personal responsibility memo.

They spent time in jail, some for years. That is taking responsibility.

The remedy for being in the US illegally, is deportation. And YAY! no family separation.

Ah yes a year in jail for bludgeoning a law enforcement officer to death and maiming others and millions of dollars of damage to a public building. That deserves a presidential pardon-but for a sick American child to stay in the USA with her peaceful parents for a bit longer to receive brain cancer treatment, that violates the law…

Clearly many of you are OK with withholding treatment to a US citizen child because you disapprove of her parents actions so I don't know why I'm even bothering with this next statement of fact but here goes. There is no legal pathway to citizenship for many of those seeking to come to America. It's not a matter of "waiting your turn" and "doing it legally" like your ancestors supposedly did. There is no pathway for most. Also, arriving at a port of entry and asking for asylum within the US IS legal.
