A tax-free $8,000 check?

Pfft. If Trump times it properly, Republicans will sweep the midterms and 2028.

They are not writing any checks. This is a rumor.

Obviously. But the idea that an $8k check wouldn't move the needle is bonkers and out of touch.

Average Americans aren't working with inherited wealth, financial assistance from parents, high-paying private sector jobs, or pensions.

For $8k, an amendment granting Trump a third term would have a fighting chance.

Yeah, I’d hold out for more than $8k to lose all my rights. But that’s me.

Yes, that's you and your bubble. Hardly anyone else would see it as losing their rights. Some of you seem need to get that most Americans aren't legal and law-adjacent policy wonks.

Then "Average Americans" deserve exactly what they will get with Trump, no sympathy or help from the "libs".

Assuming you live in America, you'll be getting whatever it is Trump dishes out right along with "average Americans." Better to push Democrats to work with the electorate we have and stop talking rubbish than to sit back smugly in your stateroom aboard the Titanic.

If I could have my federal job or $8,000 I'm going to pick that job every single time and given that he's laid off 40% of the workforce. Yeah this isn't going to move the needle much. Also that $8,000 isn't going to go very far when you no longer have medical insurance and have to pay everything out of pocket, And eggs are $15 a dozen...

I snapchatted my Republican relatives in South Dakota and said thanks Trump for the check. They asked how I got it so quickly and I haven't responded. Lol

They're not even going to be able to deliver a budget with all the desired tax cuts. No way they can even do a fraction of the $8000. He's just setting himself up to disappoint.

Who doesn’t want $8000? Talk about buying votes. I thought the whole purpose was to cut waste and inflation and spending, you know balance the budget. How’s this going to solve any of those things?

Yup. Idiots would certainly sell out for $8k, even if it did them harm. Americans are dumb AF.

So is this in exchange for people's hard earned social security?

We all know they DGAF about "balancing the budget" or "cutting waste and spending".

They just want to fck "the feds". At any cost. Because they've been told that "the feds" are the enemy and they do what they are told.

+1 And caused the inflation that they hate so much, supposedly.

Your federal job will be gone shortly and hardly anyone outside DC will feel sorry for you. Musk's smear campaign is working, unfortunately. The image of federal employees has gone from inept, but needed bunglers to demonic, vampiric they/thems draining America's lifeblood to sustain illegal immigrants and regime change abroad.

The idea can be sold that the cost of eggs can't be brought down because blue-haired transgender thieves and their Democrat enablers have sent America's GDP to Ukraine...but here's $8k salvaged from dragging out some of them kicking and screaming. Watch the electorate swell with rage against Democrats in that scenario.

That means that a full third of the population will think it’s real, and spectacular.
