I think I saw Barron Trump when the camera panned across the audience at the end of the show - did anyone else spy him in the crowd?

It's their 50th season. They scheduled it around the network schedule, major events (the election, the Super Bowl, the Oscars), holidays, the schedules of some of the key people involved (former cast members like Fey, Rock, Pohler, Martin, Wiig, etc. who have a lot of projects going), etc. Likely this date was a bit of compromise between NBC, the cast, returning stars, etc.

+1 Also February sweeps

Another here still getting through all the sketches on youtube. I agree they are very uneven but the sway was given to nostalgia and I like that very much. In that sense they hit their target. Everyone has their years, stars, sketches, characters. Something hit hard for everyone.

My question is WHO ARE THE PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE THAT YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE????

If they have people sitting at some other studio because of overspill, who are the people in the audience there? Some rich a55zholes who don't deserve it? I hope not.

Myers was there as Linda Richman in the Bronx Beat sketch. I didn't see Carvey.

Carvey talked about this on his podcast with Spade - he had the flu and it was bad enough that traveling wasn’t recommended.

And they were going to do Wayne’s World, which surprises me because Myers and Carvey had a beef for years.

There was a picture taken a couple years ago with them dressed as Wayne and Garth, looking like they were on set of a possible movie.

I thought they blew it out of the park w/their 50th special.

It was nice seeing all the old cast members back in their old stomping grounds.

I especially enjoyed watching the return of Kate, Cicely, Leslie, Beckett, Kyle and Pete.
As well as all the bigger names too such as De Niro, Steve Martin and Tom Hanks.

The vintage skit showing John Belushi mourning his lost co-stars sent chills up my spine for its obvious irony.
And I loved the Chad skit discussing the OG bit pkayers.

Marcelle will be the newest breakout star imo.
His talent sets him apart from the other cast members.
He should be in movies!

And Pete looked so. much. better.
He looks healthier without his numerous tattoos and he has gained a few much needed lbs. back.

I was disappointed that the three “Please Do Not Destroy” boys were shown since I find them super hilarious. 😂

Not a chance!
Lol!
And while I enjoyed seeing the very handsome + funny Finesse with his wife in the audience why was he not in at least ONE skit??!

I thought it was interesting they chose Miley Cyrus to sing "Nothing Compares 2 U" since she and Sinead O'Connor had a big feud back in the day.
