.

I doubt it.

How is a 94% for VISI?

A lot goes into it. Are you coming from a Catholic school? Are you Catholic? Is your child an athlete that is in contact with a coach at the school? SJC admitted 2 kids from my son’s public school last year - pretty much the top boy and top girl from the class.

My son got a 97, coming from a MD public school. We did some cramming a week or two before the test. We did one practice test and then concentrated on where test taking strategies would truly help increase the score.

What are the odds with and 80 at SJC?

If you aren’t Catholic, coming from a Catholic K-8, or a recruited athlete, not great. What are your DC’s grades like?

95%. Bummed. Had a 96% on the spring pre test and did a lot of prep this summer. Had hoped to get it up to get SJC Honors with scholarship, but that doesn’t seem likely now.

My DD had a 93 and was accepted two years ago.

Don’t give up yet. Based on my son’s stats last year, and of course depending on this year’s applicants, your DC might have a shot. Do they have all A’s? Do they have good extracurriculars?

Congrats! Great score.

Question: in reading the posted scores of 99/98 etc…there seem to be an awful lot of kids in that percentile which is counterintuitive. How do that many kids fall into the 99/98th percentile if presumably there are kids across the entire spectrum of scores? Are the kids at the lower percentile points just not getting in?

I think the DMV has a high concentration of top scores. My sister in Atlanta didn’t know know any 99s among her friends kids when my niece took it. I know several. Maybe the prep here is good? No one prepped in her community.

That’s really interesting
