It is more than reasonable for parents to know the whereabouts of their 13 year old CHILD.

There was a viral indie movie back then called “Thirteen” (?) about 13 yo girls sneaking out of the house and doing very adult things.

I remember that movie.

I snuck out of my friends parents house when I was 13 in 1989 to get together with some friends of friends who turned out to be adults, and some very adult things that I was not at all expecting happened. It was pretty traumatic, but I left with all my clothes, and I was able to sneak back in the way I snuck out so no parents ever found out.
