statute of limitations on an alleged rape in 2000 ran out a long time ago. You think this misogynistic creep spent 30 years partying with Diddy and R Kelly and never saw anything, doesn’t know anything, and never participated in anything? Laughable. Not to mention his public ties to teenage Beyonce, Rhianna, Doja Cat, Foxy Brown, Aaliyah, et al.

That look from him, and then playing it down about how it started as just music collaboration.
Gross.

I actually thought his statement was good, and string, and convincing. Which surprised me. I went from being like “meh another rapist, no kidding” to being like “yeah he is right this sounds like a money grab”

He has a good publicist.

He can afford the best and they knew this was coming, esp since Combs was arrested.

He quite literally bragged on songs about pursuing teenage girls when he was a 37-year-old man.

"Young Girl"
by Pharrell, ft. Jay-Z (2006)

"You're nineteen, no you're lightning in a bottle, I'll give you a ring tomorrow" - Jay-Z

Rhianna in 2006 would have been 18 or 19 years old. Maybe just a coincidence!

I lean toward him being guilty, but yes, it was a pretty strong statement and gives pause. There has to be more to this story. I can buy the "feeling ashamed and not sure if she consented" angle for a college student. If that happened to my daughter at age 21 I would try to support her decision on whether to report the crime. If my 13 year old called me from a gas station wearing strange clothes and had been raped, no way I'm not taking her to a hospital and involving police no matter what she says. There's more to this story, if true... either the family is incredibly dysfunctional or Jay-Z's people used intimidation tactics on the family.

exactly, where were her parents?

Are you also wondering if she was dressed like she was asking for it?

It is more than reasonable for parents to know the whereabouts of their 13 year old CHILD.

There was a viral indie movie back then called “Thirteen” (?) about 13 yo girls sneaking out of the house and doing very adult things.

PP here. Wouldn't have happened in my mom's home!

Well good for you…?

I live in nyc and have 2 daughters, 12 & 15. They are both smart and independent kids, they take the subway and go all over nyc on their own to visit friends and attend their after school activities as do most of their similarly-aged friends. My older daughter even - gasp - goes to parties and concerts on her own (with friends) sometimes now that she’s in hs but she doesn’t drink because she’s a performer and doesn’t like how it makes her feel (she has tried small amounts of alcohol at home under supervision) and she abhors smoking and drugs. I would trust her to be in most different types of spaces because she knows her limits and how to keep herself safe. She also has self defense training and carries an alarm with her.
It’s mostly the kids who are overly sheltered and coddled by their parents, and parents who treat teens like children, who don’t know how to handle themselves and make really dumb choices like snaking out, going to inappropriate parties and binge drinking. Most kids who are given safe boundaries and allowed to learn by experience may have an uncomfortable moment or two but mostly grow up to understand how to handle themselves. Parent your kids but also realize that part of parenting is letting them learn how to grow up.

I am extremely sorry for this child who endured horrible experiences and I’m not at all surprised that JayZ is a child molesting creep.

That's all well and good, until your sophisticated daughter takes just one drink, and it does not have to be alcoholic, that was given to her unsealed. Then she could find herself in the exact same position as this young girl claims: at a cool party, drugged, and woozy with zero ability to protect herself.

Were you born yesterday? This is the reason Diddy is still in jail with no bond. I have no doubt Jay Z and Diddy would have threatened them, just like they have probably been doing for decades to others. Listen to Anna Kane's story. She was 17 when Diddy trafficked her. She finally agreed to put her name on her case.

But how did it get to their attention to start the intimidation tactics... did the family go to the police, or start with a civil lawsuit? It's absolutely plausible which is why I suggested it, but I want to do know what happened. If the police were aware and didn't pursue the case or investigate because the 13 year old victim stopped cooperating, that's also disgusting.

That’s great you’re so curious and want to know but it’s really none of our business. If it goes to court it will end up in court. How did Epstein and Weinstein get away with their crimes for DECADES? I don’t know but making excuses for these men just because you personally haven’t been convinced is awful.

It’s ALL our business.

You just waking up now? Rumors have been there forever. GMAFB with suddenly being outraged. These two attacking people is definitely everyone's business but suddenly needing to be convinced as to whether there was witness intimidation, because you've either been living under a rock or were ignoring the rumors for whatever reason, that's not everyone's business. These are two separate issues.

How is Pharrell still not being called out? I don't think he's involved in the parties and trafficking, but he absolutely had to know about them. He's been producing Jay Z and Diddy for decades. At his first Something in the Water Concert in Virginia Beach, both Diddy and Jay Z performed in honor of Pharrell songs Pharrell had produced. Pharrell is super connected to them, since the 90s.

More than creep vibes, I get sinister vibes off Pharrell. Don't know why. Something 'in the background' about him that's unnerving to me.

For the parent congratulating yourself. You don’t have to be a binge drinker to get roofied. But ya your kid is less of a target. It’s not the kids fault they don’t have good parents. You can’t make other people be good parents. But we should all be trying to protect kids regardless of who their parents are.

A lot of girls and boys are victims. In my immediate family 4 out of 5 of the females. And we come from a “good” family that goes to church on Sunday. I was the victim of a male babysitter at 7 years old, l wasn’t out parting.
