No coaches do make snap decision. You can tell if a player can play with in 5 minutes. The stars get playing time as freshman everyone else are roles players and bench warmers. They can be and do get replaced. |
No…not even on D3. D3 athletes are students first, with very few addition resources to help balance the load…why? Because the athletic load is light years different. |
It's rare. Just look at top player at UNC and Duke - those girls barely played in the early years. They stuck to it and now they are stars, |
Yes D3 is harder but they do get extra time and extra resources. They travel and have soccer requirement. They get extensions and resouce support NARPS do not. |
DD plays at one of the high academics D3s and this is wrong. Travel is excused. Player and professor meet with the schedule at the start of the semester and make a new plan. Sometimes work is accelerated — due on Friday but on travel so hand in Thursday. Sometimes pushed back. Due on Friday but have u til midnight Tuesday. Team also helps. A practice that was set at the start conflicted with a lab for three players. Coach moved practice. Also could have just excused those players. They work hard to make it work. But the university has made it a priority that student athletes not get jammed up. There is a person in administration to go to if you are jammed up and they will fix. They are not in athletics but in the leadership. |
Apparently I struck a nerve with you. Hurt feelings? Go get your therapist and get help. You need it. |
Yes your immaturity and constant bitterness about sisters getting scholarships over your kid are tiresome. |
Scholarships? Not even close. It has nothing to do with bitterness...it is a discussion around how parents are using influence and wealth to get their kids spots on rosters from a SOCCER standpoint that they don't belong athletically. I'm sure the kids are smart and great kids...not the point. Is there a path for girls that parents have no influence and means AND D3 soccer ability to get on Duke and UVA's roster because they are smart and good kids? I think not...it's all about the $$$. |
Exactly. |
Be honest. Are you the parents? I, personally, can't imagine anyone else putting the time into arguing about this if they weren't. |
No they can't call it athletic scholarship. But they do give $ for other reasons etc and will help get you in. If you are a great athlete, it will work out for you. |
There are no D3 soccer kids on UVA and Duke -- not a one --- sorry the world does not work the way you think it does. |
Because the world works the way you think it does...? |
Yes exactly!!!!! |
|
I don't think all the players on either team are of the same level.
A few might belong at D3s...true |
