What Puerto Ricans and other Latinos have to wonder is will they be assumed by MAGA to be Democrats who need to be slaughtered? The disgusting bullying of Puerto Ricans and Latinos last night was bad enough but the other speakers made it clear they’re out for the literal blood of their enemies.

People who vote for today’s GOP are not well.

Can you be more idiotic? Puerto Rico is an American territory. That makes the residents American citizens.

They can come and go freely anywhere in the territorial US because they are American citizens. They are not illegal anywhere in the United States.

And, yes, many, if not most, of MAGA are racist. Just because some are not, does not mean that all are not. You only have to look at Charlottesville, the rise of anti-Asian and anti-Latino bigotry and increase violence against all non-white race demographics for the violence that is spurred by Trump. He never comes out and says it directly, but he implies it in so many ways when he talks. In fact, the only reason, he is a political force is because he has managed to corral all of the various racist and otherwise bigoted folks under one umbrella, MAGA. Without the bigoted support, that Trump encourages, he would never even make it out of the Republican primary.

He would never do that. PR is a liberal territory and Trump only likes Republican states. He has been known to deliberately withhold federal aid to liberal states. He was planning to withhold aid to California after the massive wildfires in 2018 until he was reminded how many people in the state voted for him. He withheld millions of desperately needed dollars to PR when Maria hit. Why do you think Trump would ever consider sending any help to PR?

Trump will only do something if it is worthwhile or benefits himself in some way. We do not need such a monster in the White House again. Someone who plays with peoples lives and home and withholds aid from natural disasters has no place in the federal government.

Just because you can find a handful of Latinos and Puerto Ricans who were not offended does not mean that the majority of those groups were not offended.

I guarantee you that a very significant majority of Latinos in general and Puerto Ricans specifically were and are offended. And they will spread this through their communities and it will make a difference. I happen to know several blended Puerto Rican families and I can bet that their spouses will be just as offended and inflamed by the comments.
