Irony with that is DCU didn't pick up any 2011 players from SYC. There were some great players on that 2011 squad but that destroyed when 1. HG took over. 2. When JR took over. 3. When

This season, DCU picked up the following for their 2011 group. I am sure there were more but these are the ones I know.
5 from VDA to DCU
2 from Arlington to DCU
1 from Alexandria to DCU
0 from SYC

Two 2011s from SYC played with DCU U14s last year and have been playing with U15s this year.

This is what baffles me about SYC. They said they have good players and develop them, supports their players but not able to place any players for 2011 and little to no one in the other age groups with DCU. They have good players and the conclusion that makes any sense is SYC is not advocating for their players and potentially blocking them from being picked up.

If you are invited to practice with DCU, do they give you a jersey?

Actually the Philadelphia Union player had at 5 offers DCU , Redbulls, Real Salt Lake , Philadelphia Union as well as Atlanta United, as well as 3 invites to 2010's USA Talent ID, he's actually a technical player .. Parents are forever grateful to the SYC organization and Coach Tupy.

According to MLS rules, it’s “illegal” to recruit players from outside the designated area. The club know the rules and how to go about this. Instead of stirring the pot, just be happy that the kid is where he wants to be. Stop posting information about this process if you’re not informed, because it can definitely cause serious trouble for both the player and the club.

Oh SYC fanboy. Get a life. Reality is SYC did not develop him. He came to them from a different club.

In practice, does that mean that a scout from another academy cannot reach out to a player outside of their area if that player hasn’t already made first contact?

No. Our club, which is outside of a designated area, has had players join 4 different MLS academies in the past 2 years.

I totally agree that folks should stop posting detailed information about individual players, especially when ill-informed. But this sure sounds like his mom.

Every club that a player goes through has a part of in each player's development. Maybe the player was a strong player before syc but syc possibly helped him get to the next level. To say SYC didn't develop is just dumb. I have no idea who this player is but the comment is dumb.
