What club team consolidated for the 27's?

They didn't as far as I'm aware. NL and ML are pretty close while DCE and VLC are way behind.

For 27, both NL and ML will have a lot of recruits. NL probably does a little better but more even than 26. DCE and VLC very few.

This move to NL is all about recruiting. If you talk to parents from the 3 main clubs, the organization and guidance that NL provides is head and shoulders above the others. It’s not even close. The parents of ML players know this. The college coaches don’t want to deal with Cabel. And DCE barely communicates with their boys. Some of their players haven’t even heard from the coaches. NL is better from a recruiting standpoint. And when you get into HS, everything is about recruiting. Pretty simple.

Not Dave and not a NL family, but this is correct. NL is by far superior to the area clubs in its recruiting. Yes, a lot relies on the hs coaches, but their system has just done better. Fact.

It's a pretty low bar to jump over. DCE is the worst on all forms of communication and organization in the DCE area. Madlax has a really good foundation but the owner can't get out of his own way and with his choice of coaches, his and their behavior. VLC is just non-existent in almost everything. Team Maryland is just too far away and refuses to try and take the next step. NL becomes the choice because of the failures of others. How hard is it to update a website with current photos or several other things. The NL 27's still have a team photo from middle school where half the team is no longer rostered. DCE's landing page has a photo from, I think, 2019.

At the end of the day, recruiting is about talent. Is this kid good enough to play here. No club coach is going to get a non qualified player committed to a team - college coaches know the game and they want talent. They don’t get bamboozled by cool graphics.

Graphics are winning.

+1
most of the banter about the various clubs is not wrong, but it is about the kid. if he is a great player, great student, and desirable kid, he's gonna get recruited. it may take more work on the part of his family and his HS coach if he is not on NL or DCE, but coaches will find him.

NL parents just cannot pass up an opportunity to try to one-up ML.

Really not that hard

A club coach is not able to work wonders if there is not a sufficient level of talent, character and grades.

And do not forget about parents. Parents who alienate club coaches by complaining about playing time etc. exhibiting bad body language and vocalizations on the sidelines and insisting that the player should be getting recruited at a higher level than is accurate are just a few ways to tank your kid and, unfortunately, it is common for a negative parent to exhibit many of those traits.

Grades are the hard to hide.

Talent can be inflated to some degree with a good highlight tape and good connections in the elite showcases. Many kids get into the showcase circuit early in middle school and are able to parlay that experience into the big showcases. If your club coach can get you into Best in Class in 8th grade, you're almost guaranteed to stay in through high school.

Character is always important, but rarely is any high school or club coach going to expose a kid unless their behavior is truly egregious.

Please break down the club recruiting scene since 2017.
Quantify this.

DCE had legendary classes in 21 and 22. May be high water mark for DMV recruiting for a very looong time.
