Go to the 2nd tryout. There were lots of kids there. Took two trials for my kid to be seen last year and he ended up getting tournament team rostered regularly

Why are they “not seeing” kids the first week? Why the 2nd week are they going to pay better attention to the tryouts? It’s really a complete waste of time to make parents pay $25, come out twice and they’ll pay attention to your kid the second week only. And now I’m hearing there is a bias towards SYC players and those that do private training?!?! Give me a break! Already signed my kid up for another futsal program.

Ok. Good luck. And avoid getting life and soccer advice from DCUM. This place isn't real life.

What?? Are people paying for a try out? And specially at intensity? Money grabbers.

Not this outfit, they are only interested in skilled and hardworking kids. I don't get the sense they are interested in creating multiple teams.

They are going to offer it spots to returning players who also signs up for their private training. Win Win for them.

All while collecting $25 tryout fees from the 200+ kids trying out. Do the math.

Yeah yeah so they say and posted they had 200+ registered....

Having to pay for tryout is ALWAYS a red flag.

Get a grip. Many programs (indoor and outdoor) have kids come multiple times (whether two tryouts or a tryout and then invitations to training, etc.). This isn't new. And you are complaining about $25? Pre-covid, almost every outdoor club charged $15-50 for tryouts (true, this has largely gone away since Covid).

"come out twice and they’ll pay attention to your kid the second week only" --> what does this even mean? who said that? is that confirmed?

"And now I’m hearing there is a bias towards SYC players and those that do private training?!?!" --> Oh, you HEARD this so it's true? On boys side, there weren't that many SYC kids. My son's team was very good, and they had one SYC kid. None of the kids did private training.

"Already signed my kid up for another futsal program." --> Taking people's anonymous rumors and complaints on a DCUM board, regarding it as the gospel truth, and acting on that?!? Pretty insane if you ask me. You may want to seek professional mental health. Anyway, good riddance, your kid probably wasn't good enough to hang anyway.

Classy response from one of the founders.

If they had enough confidence that people would come out to tryouts, they would not need to charge $25.
If they cared about finding quality players, they would not need to charge $25.

ALL the local futsal clubs in this area are NOT charging players to come for tryouts.
