| No offer here. I guess will wait for second trout. My player did very well on the first one. |
| I must add that my player is new to the program. |
| I've already signed my kid up for the Arlington Futsal tryouts this weekend once I realized my kid did not get an offer after the first round. Does anyone else have recommendations? I'm not holding my breath on the second round. My kid did well too, so it's probably best to set up other options. |
| We've done the program and will be doing it again this year. Unless a player is a total standout or an otherwise known entity, they definitely prefer to see the kids twice before making an offer. At least speaking for last year, there were a good number of kids who did not get offers after one night who did receive them after a second practice/tryout. |
| What other futsal programs do people recommend that have not already had tryouts? |
There should be a lot available. Ask your current travel coach for recommendations. They should field a team for your group, but if they are not then they will certainly have options for your DC. |
Is your dc an Arlington player? Is Arlington Futsal open to anyone or exclusively to Arlington club members only? Saw their page and it looks good, but tryouts are also this weekend. |
They most likely only sent out offers to SYC players or are at least waiting for SYC players to come to the second tryout and give them first right of refusal. I think SYC has some exclusivity with them and the rest can fill in the gaps. |
Returning player and got the offer letter. Re: the above, at least on the boys side, there is enough talent to make two competitive teams in a few of the age groups (2010, 2011, 2015, maybe 2016). Not sure about girls side. |
So then it’s not exactly club neutral? |
No affiliation this year. They offered a couple trainings for ayc players last year. Nothing this |
|
I’ve shopped around and it doesn’t seem like many places have two tryouts a week aport. What is everyone else seeing?
I heard they are waiting to see all the kids that couldn’t make it to the tryouts last weekend due to tournaments, yet nearly everyone there made it despite tournaments and are now told that they have to wait to compete with the players that were not committed enough to make the first tryout. Sounds fishy to me. |
They are going to offer it spots to returning players who also signs up for their private training. Win Win for them. |
All while collecting $25 tryout fees from the 200+ kids trying out. Do the math. |
| My kid did not have a single SYC player on their team last year. Maybe that’s more on the boys side? |
