haha, you win. |
She is a longstanding homophobe (her religious cult is extremely homophobic) who received millions in outside money to fund her congressional campaign. She is very unpopular in her home state of Hawaii. Her father is a homophobic Republican-turned-Democratic legislator. They are all very weird. |
DP. "Weird" has been overplayed. Kind of like "very demure, very mindful." The joke is played out. |
I don't have any opinion on why the left hates her, other than their hatred clearly shows she has a point - and they know it. I agree with what she said: Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii announced Tuesday that she's leaving the Democratic Party because it's "now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness." In a video statement posted on social media, Gabbard, 41, accused Democrats of dividing the country "by racializing every issue, stoking anti-white racism" and "actively working to undermine our God-given freedoms enshrined in our Constitution." "The Democrats of today are hostile to people of faith and spirituality," she continued. "They demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans. The Democrats of today believe in open borders and weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents. Above all else, the Democrats of today are dragging us ever closer to nuclear war." https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/tulsi-gabbard-announces-leaving-democratic-party-rcna51659 |
+100 How is this even a question? |
The Democratic Party left Tulsi long ago. No one, literally no one in the party, is wringing their hands over this statement. Most party members don't know who she is. Those that did already assumed she had left. Okay, a few guys thought she was hot and might come to her senses, but she is just the female version of RFK, Jr, though slightly less touched than he is. |
DP. She is not a homophobe and apologized for remarks she made *decades* ago. If you consider her a homophobe, tell us all about Joy Reid, who made FAR more offensive remarks about gay people and is still employed by MSNBC. I'm sure you just revere her, right? |
Are you actually calling Hinduism a "religious cult"?? |
This. They want attention and will do anything for it. |
Good riddance. |
The above statement was from 2022, when she left the Democratic party. And I recall lots of discussion about the topic at the time. You seem to think this just happened? ![]() |
+1 pretty much |
Proud Hindu checking in and Tulsi's cult is no part of our religion. We do not claim her. Tulsi's cult is called "Science of Identity Foundation (SIF). SIF was founded by Chris Butler (a white man living in Hawaii) who tried to join a Hare-Krishna but Chris Butler was denounced by the main leader of that movement so Butler kept moving to the fringe until he ultimately founded SIF. SIF has been described as a "cult" and denounced for being homophobic and misogynistic. |
100%, I'm another desi woman checking in to co-sign the above. We do not claim Tulsi and her fringe cult views do not represent mainstream Hinduism. |
