It’s inappropriate she is a high level liaison for mcps in her role. It’s a conflict of interest.

You still haven't described how it is a conflict of interest.

Yes, I have. You are probably her trying to justify your poor decisions.

She got rid of MVA. That's enough for me.

Bless your heart, if you have one. Why do you care so much? Your obsession is truly strange.

MVA was publicly subsidizing child abuse.

Bless your cold heart!

Thanks. It is important to look at things objectively. By the numbers, MVA was objectively bad for kids, no matter the mental gymnastics MVA parents tried to justify their actions.

LOL
And why are MCPS kids in virtual classes this week?

And why do so many MCPS administrators get virtual PHds?

Because MCPS doesn't have the money to hire more teachers.

And because MCPS administrators wouldn't be able to get through a real PhD program.

Do you feel better about yourself denigrating others? Please go touch grass and then reevaluate the priorities in your life.

Indeed. Virtual Education PhDs are just as meaningless as in-person Education PhDs.

Meanwhile most of my kids’ middle school classes are 30+ kids and some of their textbooks won’t arrive for months because “there was an issue with the order.”

You get textbooks in middle school. 30 or more kids in middle school is normal. Textbooks are not normal. Buy them if you can. We did for hs last year and will for one class this year if they don’t come this week.

So now kids ride the bus as long as 2 hours one way, stopping at white oak, burnt mills, and page. First stops are as early as 6:50am for elementary students!!!!

They should give buses for magnets as it’s optional. Be thankful. We have to drive to our regular school as the walk is unsafe.

🙄 well your comments explain why there is still a bullying issue at MCPS. Apples don’t fall far from their rotten trees.

DP it was kind of disturbing to read in WaPo about the child with no medical needs that is going into third grade for in person school for the first time, did the MVA apparently solely because her older siblings did it. Hopefully Taylor will find a solution for kids with medical needs.

Ever consider maybe someone else in the family had medical issues? Or the kids just learn best that way? I doubt Taylor will find a solution. I think he might be a decent guy and trying but the BOE is the problem.

DP. None of the kids have a medical need. One of the older siblings was bullied, so the mother forced all of the kids into virtual. From the picture, the third grader looked so happy to finally go to school. No doubt there are many more stories like that from the other former MVA kids.

The problem is that there a very narrow goldilocks zone for such a program. The kids have to be sick enough that they can't go to school, but healthy enough to consistently be able to attend a full day of classes virtually. Even across all of Montgomery County, there aren't going to be a lot of kids that fall between those points.

Just make up crap that has nothing to do with you or your children. Hopefully you don’t have children.

Ok, and? There are lots of small programs, including the magnets and special ed that cater to small groups fo kids - should we get rid of all them too or expand them and make them options for more kids?

It's really going to make staffing high school grades challenging unless they can partner with other counties to create a shared program.
