What's a food that people generally love but you think is overrated?

I do love Nutella.

But I’m with you on the spinach thing…it gives me a weird feeling on my teeth

Ditto for spinach

Do some people not get that feeling?

I love spinach and I get that feeling, at least after a lot of spinach. It's the oxalic acid.

Agree. I think people just really like the cream cheese frosting.

Oysters.

I think we're twins. Can't stand either of these. I think with oysters, it doesn't help that I've read numerous stories about people getting seriously ill and nearly dying or actually dying from eating them. No food is worth dying for, and certainly not a slimy oyster!

Crabs and lobster. I don't know what happened. I grew up in a family that ate a lot of seafood, spent summers at the ocean fishing and crabbing, and happily cracked apart crabs and lobsters we had caught or bought and cooked at home. But something changed over the past year or so, and the thought fills me with disgust now.

Now I live in Singapore, where the chili crab meal is beloved by the other expats: whenever I go out to dinner at a nice restaurant with a group, someone always orders the chili crab. And I just can't. I can barely look at the things without feeling sick. I keep seeing the crabs in tanks in different places, and for some reason something clicked in my mind and I now see them as spider-like (which they are). It was suddenly disgusting to me, like eating big spiders. I can't even look at them anymore, let alone contemplate having a boiled one on a plate and cracking open its spider-legs and body. Gross gross gross. Some of my colleages split a chili crab last night and I could barely stand eating my own meal with the spider-creature on the table. I don't think I will ever eat lobster or crab again.

I wish this hadn't happened. I really used to love lobster and crab.
