Well the world is on fire now and Biden did spearhead the crime bill that disproportionately locked Black people in prison, so yes, hopefully she will.

Our country is filled with vitriol and hate. Was it there before Trump? Yes. But not until Trump did we have a president that played on that to make the country more divisive. It is truly despicable.

You are kidding, right? Every R nominee in my lifetime has been subjected to over the top vitriol from the Left. They think they and only they should command and have been doing outlandish things to obtain/maintain power. Dividing is there game. Intersectionality is THEIR thing.

Remember Bush jr was Hitler!!
Every republican is HITLER!!

I remember when a bunch of Dem Senate staffers literally apologized to him at a wedding I attended for having savaged him when they discovered he was a decent person. Old Saul loved the way they had originally demonized him but I don’t think he wrote much about how to treat an actual human being.

Yeah, Bush was never Hitler. But dems call every republican president or presidential candidate Hitler. They call all republicans/conservatives Hitler. It’s literally 24/7/365 Hiltler with democrats.

Hitler, Hitler Hitler!

He plucked Joe from the end of his miserable career and gave him a second life. Was an awful mistake. Joe’s image was and has always been very far from his reality. Far.

Arrogant. Thin skinned. Unimaginative. Hard to work with. Mean to staff. Etc. the opposite of everything Ron Klain said about him but someone the DC back office guys knew they could handle.

You think President Obama didn’t have buyer’s remorse? I think his “don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to F things up “ quote says it all.

Joe and Jill and Hunter ain’t leaving baby. Democrats created a monster. He brought Mrs. Monster, Monster Jr, and the whole monster family to the WH.

It’s the Monster Show now. Bye bye, dems.

I speak to my kids about this race. They are young voters and they have to understand that Jan 6th was completely abnormal and must never happen again. They can't think that is how we do things in America. It is not.

The disaster of overturning roe has also motivated them and locked in their votes for the Dems.

Make sure they are organized to vote or get an absentee ballots if they are away from home in college.

I'm definitely voting for whoever the Democratic nominee is, but I feel the need to do more.

Speak to the trumpers in your life. Some of them are reachable.

(She says, ruefully, knowing her father abstained from voting for Trump in 2020 but might not again)

This.

And if not Trumpets in your life, watch Fox. Understand where his support comes from.

Then volunteer to make phone calls or go door knock in swing states.

Plus do NOT donate to any political candidate unless you are independently wealthy or you truly believe in an underfunded candidate. Money to someone like Biden may be $$ down the drain.

I love it when strangers call, or knock on my door, and proceed to tell me what I should think and do

As someone who makes these calls DAILY I can say you have it wrong. First, sometimes we’re calling strong partisans to get them involved, sometimes we’re calling folks who don’t vote often so our calls are more about listening to them, sometimes we’re educating voters of the choices or the candidate’s agenda/track record. Most people are checked out. Many people like to give their opinions! We listen, they feel heard. These one to one conversations are impactful and much better than what we are doing now — writing on an anonymous message board.

Next month, I’ll start knocking doors. Let me give you an example of what happened last year (Virginia). I knocked on the door of a man who was not going to vote at all. He was disillusioned with the whole process his wife had just been diagnosed with stage four cancer. I stood there and listen to him with real empathy the struggles he was going through then he talked about how he was a Vet and issues he had with the VA. The candidate I was knocking for, was a Vet. The potential voter did not know that. I sat and listened to him, I empathize And I gave him information that he did not know. He said he would vote for my candidate.

This is why we do the work. It’s not sexy. It’s not quick. And it’s so, so rewarding to do this work and connect with fellow Americans.

I also just started doing some of this type of work and it can be rewarding. People are surprisingly polite and some are so uninformed even as to the date of the election and different ways they can vote .

PP here. Thank you and yes, people IRL are much kinder. Anyone who wants to keep Trump out of WH just pick an organization to volunteer with and try it

Are there specific organizations you recommend?

I have volunteered with all these groups. They are professional and their scripts are good. They all use some sort of a dialer which means you call with your computer, not your personal phone and your personal information is masked. From easiest to hardest (which isn't hard at all!)

Postcards to Swing States
They give you script, address, postcards. You write and pay postage.
https://www.turnoutpac.org/postcards/

Red2Blue
Call recently registered Pennsylvanians to confirm they’ve received their voter registration cards and to urge them to vote.
https://www.mobilize.us/red2blueorg/event/643083/

All in for North Carolina
Recruit volunteers in NC by calling strong Dems, invite them to local activities. Very easy, and good for first-time callers.
Sunday 6-8pm - https://www.mobilize.us/swingbluealliance/event/569199/
Wednesday 6-8pm - https://www.mobilize.us/swingbluealliance/event/612057/

Sister District.
Calls for candidates running to flip state legislature seats in various states.
Calls Tuesday- Friday various times
https://www.mobilize.us/sisterdistrict/

Biden - Harris campaign
Call voters in critical states asking them to commit to voting Dem all way down ticket.
Calls Tuesday - Fridays anytime 4-8pm, Saturdays 2-4pm
https://events.democrats.org/event/560970/

Given recent migrants are being registered to vote, please make sure that the individual can cast a legal vote

My neighbors are legal immigrants that are registered and motivated to vote. They have enthusiasm for this important responsibility and they are from a place that was destroyed by autocrats like trump. They will proudly support Biden.

+1

Make sure your college age students have a plan for voting.

Your party has a 900 page plan to get fascism enshrined as the law of the land. You should understand that you’re not convincing anyone to join in the fascism happily as most of us are factually informed voters.

Yes. Michelle Obama may be the most popular person in our country.

But, according to Biden, he was the first clean and articulate black politician. Remember that?

Look where the GOP has ended up (so far!). Turns out our warnings were warranted.

Yes. Allow Michelle to replace the big guy. Maybe this time she can try harder to reduce the obesity epidemic.

She has no desire to be in politics. I don’t think there is anyone more popular in our country. Sorry that bothers you and of course Trump. Because his popularity is so not as “bigly” as Michelle’s.

Michelle said Barack chronically stunk in her glamour mag interview. Upstanding, stinky, uncoordinated and divisive / anti -American

Trump loves America

That still bothers me, every time I saw Barack, I would think, his wife says he smells so awful his kids don’t like to be near him, and Michelle makes him sleep in a separate bedroom.

Your college students can register to vote where they are enrolled in college. This may be especially helpful if they are studying in a swing state.

Donate money to grass roots organizations in swing states. They may have more sway than the Democrats.
