How much will Biden lose by?

Let’s hope so.

The country is headed in the wrong direction under Biden/Harris

People are very stressed and the no wars, low inflation, flush bank accounts, controlled border, low crime, safer cities, higher test scores, low gas prices, longer lifespans Trump presidency is looking very nostalgic.

Naw, I realize some diehard Trump supporters have bought into the myth that the Jan. 6 insurrection was a nothinburger but the rest of the country remembers it very clearly. All Trump supporters hate America and all that it stands for, and no one has forgotten Trump's anti-American, anti-democracy behavior. Factor in abortion rights being on the ballot in nearly every state and Biden's going to cruise to victory.

Trump has never won an election, remember. He lost the popular vote twice and the midterms.

Most normie low-info Americans dislike Trump and his chaos; were horrified by the October 7 terror attacks; think Israel has a right to go after Hamas but probably are not too attuned to the civilian suffering; see the campus protests as just something that young privileged American college students do.

Remember, there was so much civilian suffering in the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, under ISIS.....and it really did not move the average low-info normie American to care all that much or change their voting habits. Obama was elected because Bush screwed up in Iraq so badly and then blew-up the economy.

Normie low-info Americans are starting to memory-hole the pandemic, so that leaves a good portion of them with fuzzy positive vibes about the first couple years of the Trump admin on the economic front. Will see how it all shakes out.

But, right now? Biden has the median voter IMHO. Trump is not expanding his base.

Biden, like HRC, just has a lock on most higher income areas. The idea that he has ‘the median voter’ is just lazy inside the beltway rationalization.

Expect painfully low turnout as voters realize both parties are very bad jokes at best…

I know I’m the outlier here, but I actually think turnout will be the highest of all time. Remember, 2024 will be the first election in over 100 years to feature an incumbent president against a former president. No one alive has ever seen this before.

I actually think the consequences of overturning Roe will drive turnout. Women of all ages and political persuasions are enraged. And between now and then, there are going to be a lot more horror stories. It’s going to be everywoman on the news having to be medivaced out of one of the lower 48 for any one of the myriad things that can go wrong. Those women will speak out and their stories will drive clicks.

I disagree. There are about 5-7 swing states that will determine the outcome of the election. And in states like Michigan progressives are indicating they will vote for Kennedy or stay home. It only takes a small margin for Trump to win - a few thousand in each swing state. And young people and progressives are more motivated by Gaza than they are by the roll back in women's rights. For this reason, I think Trump is going to win.

The most recent poll has Gaza ranked 13th of concerns for young voters.
It’s loud and very online, but that’s it.

Agree. Some of the campus unrest is infiltration by “professional” rioters which has obviously made it more dangerous for everyone.

More saliently though, younger voters are concerned about women’s, minorities, and lgbt rights and Trump’s and SCOTUS’ promise to roll them back. All politics is local.

I wonder reading these threads how many of you have 17-24yos? They are not excited. Which is a MASSIVE understatement. I know kids who are 18 who have never been to a protest who are refusing Starbucks and other corps who support Israel (I hadn’t even known this was a thing). I know kids who are 18 who say they will sit out their first election. Abortion will be a biggie IF the stars align and they are willing to stand in line for the 3-5 hours it took to vote on campuses in 2020.

18-24 year olds have always been unreliable voters at best and don’t turn out in huge numbers compared to the middle aged and elderly.

They absolutely helped Biden win. But, will they again?

The only thing that's going to stop and roll back abortion laws are doctors refusing to work in these states. One of the most satisfying things I've seen on cable news is Nancy Mace walking back her strict abortion stance because they are in dire need of doctors in SC but they refuse to come there.

All I know is that it is very likely that Biden loses Virginia. It will be well deserved.

I'm a 37F Kerry-Obama-Obama-Clinton-Biden voter and preparing to vote red (at least partially) this year in Spotsylvania County. I especially despise the carpetbagger Vindman and I'm downright giddy to vote against him. The only republican I've ever voted for was 10+ years ago in Massachusetts when I voted for Scott Brown in the special election to replace Ted Kennedy.

Team Biden is over. Sorry, but he blew it.

Trump has more minority support than any R in history.

Dems are in severe panic mode. #WalkAway

It's interesting that the twitter trolls have moved here. Someone is in panic mode and it's not the Dems.

I mean, I understand. Things are going amazingly for women under republican rule everywhere.

Trump has lost all his mojo. Listen to him. He’s just a pathetic whiny loser. His campaign will collapse and drag the whole party down with him.

You say it like that's a bad thing.

I don't think the average voter minds if the GOP goes the way of the whig's and we got another party that actually represented the political right.

I am sick of hearing this crap. There are two people who will.be their party's candidate for president. Pick one or stay home. RFK, Jr. is taking votes from Trump and he doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell. Elections are not Baskin Robbins with umpteen choices.

Stay home and shut up.

The NYTimes is slamming Biden for avoiding media interviews.

"For anyone who understands the role of the free press in a democracy, it should be troubling that President Biden has so actively and effectively avoided questions from independent journalists during his term," the Times began its statement. "The president occupies the most important office in our nation, and the press plays a vital role in providing insights into his thinking and worldview, allowing the public to assess his record and hold him to account."

"Mr. Biden has granted far fewer press conferences and sit-down interviews with independent journalists than virtually all of his predecessors. It is true that The Times has sought an on-the-record interview with Mr. Biden, as it has done with all presidents going back more than a century. If the president chooses not to sit down with The Times because he dislikes our independent coverage, that is his right, and we will continue to cover him fully and fairly either way," it added.

The Times continued, "However, in meetings with Vice President Harris and other administration officials, the publisher of The Times focused instead on a higher principle: That systematically avoiding interviews and questions from major news organizations doesn’t just undermine an important norm, it also establishes a dangerous precedent that future presidents can use to avoid scrutiny and accountability. That is why Mr. Sulzberger has repeatedly urged the White House to have the president sit down with The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNN and other major independent news organizations that millions of Americans rely on to understand their government."

The statement came following a report from Politico Magazine about escalating tensions between the Times and the White House.

Are you trying that again? That panned out about as well as the imaginary red wave did. No one walked away.

You misrepresent that. They’re sore that Biden won’t give them the exclusive they feel is their due (even though he’s been interviewed by NYT writers). So they slam his age. Like a pack of feral, petty people with no concerns about democracy or women or anything else - just their egos. So I guess the NYT’s ongoing support for Donald Trump makes sense in that context.
