The entire prosecution says they knew things were over after that because the judge was not happy and neither were the jurors about Furhman

Right, because the LAPD was like you know what, we are out to get black people so let’s pin a murder on the whitest black guy ever and a beloved sports hero, OJ Simpson. Dude literally said I’m not black I’m OJ. His house had to be redecorated before the jury visit because all of the photos in his house were white people. I’m not saying Fuhrman didn’t give the defense a lot to work with, but come on.

I think OJ most likely did it but I still think some of the evidence was planted. Like dropping the one glove on us properly. I think cops like Fuhrman are just that stupid and arrogant that they will mess up even a good case. There was a ton of evidence so I doubt it was all planted, but the glove just seemed ridiculous to me. Maybe I’m naive but I think with the advent of more sophisticated CSI techniques, I think cops are less likely to play these sorts of games with murder scenes now. But that was all in its infancy back then.

I guess it’s possible it was the son and the lab messed up the dna test. A male son would have pretty close DNA….but I’m not sure what his motive would be to kill his ex-step-mom.

I remember where I was when the verdict was announced. I was a 2nd year law student at UVA Law. I remember that many of the Black law students had gathered to hear the verdict and a huge cheer went out when it was read. I was shocked and stunned. Shocked that the verdict was "not guilty" and stunned that these fellow students -- who I thought looked at the case like I did -- they had studied criminal law and were taking Evidence as a class, they were smart/logical and at a pretty good law school --- they cheered when I thought it was a miscarriage of justice.

It was very surprising to me. They weren't people who followed OJ as a football player. They weren't people who had been in jail and wanted OJ to stick it to the man as a proxy for their legal revenge. It took me awhile to realize that while I thought we were on the same team ("team" being "law students"_ --- they actually had a bigger commitment/tie/attachment to the racial "team" victory that OJ represented.

It was a really shocking moment for me to see fellow law students CHEERING for a murderer being set free. OJ represented a victory over racism to them. We all came to law school to learn law, but we look at it through the glasses of our past experiences.

I could have posted this verbatim, except different law school. One of the smartest women in my class cheered and I was jaw droppingly stunned. I’d say it was for me (a white woman) my first known exposure to your last point.

I was a young white employee working in the fed govt at a cabinet agency. The cheering was also in my workplace during the workday. That and the Anita Hill case were eye-opening for me regarding the grievances of black professionals at my workplace. Important for me to realize "the whys" but saddening as there doesn't seem to be any good solution except (years? centuries?) more slow progress.

Please, this theory is insulting to the terror Nicole endured for so many years and it is cruel to cast such aspersions on Jason.

Read this 30 year old essay and be reminded of all the domestic violence evidence the jury wasn’t allowed to hear - about how aggressively OJ was stalking Nicole for two years and how she called a battered women’s project 5 days before she was murdered by OJ expressing fear for her life.

Innocent people don't flee the scene with their passport, cash, a gun, and hair dye in their car.

That is all true but the case was ruined the moment Furhman plead the fifth about planting evidence on OJ. It was over . Enough seeds of reasonable doubt were planted that it didn’t matter that OJ was acting suspiciously and looked guilty

Cops planting evidence on black suspects happens all the time. OJ was barely black but even he was able to benefit From police misconduct .

For some reason, OJ was stupidly giving vials and vials of a large amount of blood according to the prison nurses during his initial stay in jail . He thought he was helping the cops. That’s how delusional he was . Some
Of the blood samples mysteriously went “missing” from the lab. That along with Furhman pleaing the fifth ruined the case.

They probably should. There are just too many people spending 15, 20, 30 years of their lives in prison only for the Innocent Project to come along and prove the person was wrongly accused and convicted.

I thought that Goldman and the Browns received their civil court settlement? If not, Goldman and the Browns should get their settlement. However, whatever kids OJ has from his first or any other marriage, should inherit his estate.

As of 2021, OJ had only paid a little over $100,000 to the Goldmans even though the judgment was $33 million. Not sure about the Browns. All assets should go to satisfy these judgments.

Why do the Goldmans deserve 33 million dollars? That’s ridiculous . They have to get more than the Browns or Simpson kids why? Their son was going to be meet that fate anyway if he kept selling drugs. That lifestyle is very dangerous and the Goldmans knew their son was up to no good

It’s not disturbing. What’s disturbing is how all the trashy elements surrounding these peoples lifestyles were never discussed at all by the media .
Faye Resnick was in financial ruin due to her drug addiction, owed the cartel a huge tab, and was living with Nicole until days prior to the murder. OJ was furious that Nicole allowed herself to get used by these low grade druggies .

Denise Brown also was dating a mafia hitman named Anthony Fiato at the time of the murders. The entire circle was very scandalous. Ron and other waiters at Mezzaluna were all driving exotic foreign luxury vehicles . What waiter can afford that?

Part of the racial frustration regarding this case isn’t just the police or justice system but the whitewashing of the two victims inner circle and their activities.

Everything just became OJ when those two were around plenty of other murderers from Mafia guys to drug dealers .

Thankfully, I was never an Simpson fan, so I didn't follow the trial at all. I never knew Simpson, Nicole Simpson or Ron Goldman so as much as I can understand the relatives of theirs being upset, I wasn't upset at the time and I'm still not upset about any of this.

Simpson was cleared in the criminal trial, and that was it for me. From that point on, I would have had no problem sitting next to him at a movie theater or sitting at the next table in a restaurant.

Simpson is gone. May he R.I.P.
