Yes, u missed it. “The village” of Claremont is about a 10 minute walk from campus. Cute restaurant and shops. Not a college bar scene as I recall. |
NP-I also thought it was very cute. I’ll admit I didnt expect much and it far exceeded my expectations |
UW--Madison |
UGH, HATE Iowa City |
Ann Arbor. Duh. |
It has pretty much everything a college town should have and then more. |
Lawrence, KS is very cute. |
So you missed the pizza places, Hoagie Haven, Thomas Sweet, the coffee shops, and other restaurants? Princeton is a really nice town but if you go there with a preconception of what it’s like you’re just going to fixate on the places that confirm that view. |
I lived in Princeton. Ok, it’s a nice place. But Princeton is the most boring town in the country and happens to be located just over an hour away from the most exciting city in the world. |
What part of Ithaca? Ithaca college? Cornell? |
Not the PP but Ithaca, NY, is a small city with a downtown area that is separate and distinct from the Cornell U and Ithaca College campuses. There are restaurants, a pedestrian-only area (the Commons), a Hilton Garden, shops, etc. Adjacent to Cornell is the Collegetown area with restaurants, apartments, etc. |
Princeton is a very nice town with quite a bit of history. It increasingly has more youth-oriented establishments and the proximity to NYC is an added plus. |
City Nerd says State College #1, followed by Ithaca and Burlington.

There are a bazillion of these lists, all slightly different . Here’s another one that uses census metrics, including cost of living: https://www.usatoday.com/picture-gallery/mone...in-america/40078291/ |
