Valor

Extremely unlikely. Most of their older "gold" teams are not strong. Last season, NVA picked maybe 1 player per age group. The teams were almost entirely Loudoun kids.

But in my experience Arlington and VSA in the U12 and under does a better job developing kids. Loudoun and Valor are pure money grabs if your kid is not on top team. Regardless you generally have to jump clubs if your kid is improving but not standing out to move up.

Could not agree with this any more than I do! We left one of the clubs you mentioned since we were a "bubble" player but due to circumstances beyond our control knew we would never break into the top team if we didn't leave.

boys or girls?

I can say for the girls the older girls seem solid. 2010s and 2011s not so much. But with the 2011s the valor girls couldn’t keep up in practices and got smoked in scrimmages.

While those squads definitely could use the help they are no walk in the park… aim high but valor kids will be pissed when they see the competition includes fcv and encl castaways from other clubs.

Good luck pushing the NVA players out… and fcv players… and brave players… union players… vda players…. Thats a lot to stand out amongst.

The 2011s are top 20 in the nation, got second in state cup….what are you talking about

Top 20 in the nation but second in one of two state cups for VA. How does that even make sense to you?

Valor's 2011G top team isn't bad but they're not top 20 in the nation. GotSport rankings are meaningless, they don't account for regular season play and the points are skewed.

Top 10 in the state for sure, and with some more pieces or time I'm sure they could be very competitive.

But their coach just left for SYC and will probably take a few girls with him.

The statement above was the 2011s couldn’t keep up in practice, past tense. This is factually incorrect. I do agree that the 2011s will disband some, future looking. The 2011s got caught in the NVA reshuffling unfortunately, as did many of the older kids. This appears to be getting sorted out for the younger ages.

They should be fielding a strong team over there at SYC then I would imagine.

Really? Top 20 in the nation for a U13 team? Let's get real folks. Let's get something straight, top teams aren't doing state cup and got soccer points is a joke. Be happy your kid is doing well and having fun, but take your top 20 comment and quietly go home before you are laughed out.

Bragging about top 20 this or that is irrelevant at these young ages. Only one club in this area has a top 20 girls team at the ages that do matter and it's FCV and their U19. But that club is imploding.

I agree that the 2011s are a solid team but they compete against the second teams from bigger clubs. There were/are 2 VA state cups - one for ECNL teams and another for non-ECNL teams. Despite playing in pre-ECNL last year, Valor competed in the non-ECNL state cup, beating second teams on the way to the finals. Cool for them, but it doesn’t make them a Top 20 team in the country.

19s doesn’t matter.

I find it strange to brag about "state cup" when its all the second tier teams. Its so weird that it is even called the "state cup".
