The global birth rate is already way down, below replacement level. Thank you DINK’s for helping our children. |
We still need way less humans. Greenhouse gas release is through the roof. Demand for clean water explodes while the amount of plastic waste continues to skyrocket. Every single new human baby is parasite on Mother Nature. Children are planet destroyers. That’s why it is a fallacy to claim children are our future. You are only looking at it from an economic perspective while ignoring how much each new kid rapes the Earth. |
It's hard to say who definitely will never have kids at age 35. Check back in 10-12 years. |
if this isn't a joke, then PP needs a serious therapist. Reproduction is the only way to keep society alive...on a positive note, less competition for my daughter! |
I'm an environmentalist, but there are arguments that reducing child birth rate will have negligible impact on climate change issues because the pace of the threat is faster than any impact of global birthrate reduction. And beyond the very near future, it's really hard to predict the environmental impact of a human--it might be a net positive if you raise an environmentalist who influences policy. |
| DINKS are only the future for owners of high end nursing homes. Cities have been struggling post-covid to stay clean and safe enough to keep DINKS spending money and paying high taxes. |
Jeff Bezos has one |

I got married as a man to have kids.
Why would I be a DINK? |
+1. Contraceptives which are perceived by the GOP as interfering with the implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterus or causing the death of potential life will be banned. Unexplained bleeding or miscarriages will be investigated for maternal or medical negligence. |

I feel that this thread has brought out a group of very militant anti-parenting people that are obsessed with money. I get it- you’re on DCUM because it’s high income. But it sort of freaks me out that you’re trolling along here and responding in such force because it makes me wonder what crappy advice you’re giving parents on DCUM.
Having children is BOTH a blessing and a huge test. Yes, both things can be true at the same time. But choosing to have kids does not make you a patsy, nor does it mean you are guaranteed to be the victims of an evil system. We still live in the wealthiest country in the world, in the Capitol of it, with one of the highest educational levels. So it’s very very strange to me that folks are so vehement that society has it out for them. Damn, people, you won the fate lottery and you’re still so ungrateful! Definitely don’t have kids if you don’t want to do the work. But don’t assume that this is the future. The numbers do not show that, even if the system is imperfect. |
Don’t take it personally. They’re just bitter. |
Bingo Usually the loudest people in the room are the most envious. Shockingly, people can do it all - have kids, build wealth, and travel! |
| It's just odd to be hanging out on a parenting forum like DCUM and be bragging about being childfree. Why not find your people on other sites? |
Please stop. It would create a huge underground business. |
I hate to burst your bubble but there are a lot of elderly in those homes with living children and grandchildren. Women are not available to provide unpaid eldercare any more. |
