The second storm didn't end until after sundown. We shoveled about 2-3pm, but more on after. We did salt well, but didn't go back out. A bit slushy on Friday, but with the sun, the walkway is clear and dry. By the third time - I was pretty sick of shoveling. We are on a main-ish drag and get foot traffic for the bus. I don't want anyone getting hurt. |
Dude, you’re squarely in the wrong here. You live in a society, act like it. |
Same here, everyone on my block shoveled or paid someone to shovel or helped someone shovel. Whatever got the sidewalk cleared off so people could walk on it safely. |
The laws in most of the USA say sidewalk shoveling is not needed. |
Yeah, don’t know why OP is keeping the age such a secret. |
That’s one of many reasons people think you’re an a-hole. |
You sure? I mean murder is barely against the law in Baltimore. |
Your are that nosy obnoxious neighbor. Mind your own business. |
When you’re not watching I’m going to shovel your snow & maybe wash your Prius. |
I find it interesting the people here who think you should just walk on it and whatnot. I lived in Cambridge, Mass. where it snows frequently and in large amounts and people got out and shoveled. They didn't say "just wear the right shoes, who cares" they shoveled and put out sand and ice melt and helped each other (and frankly I needed the most help because the snow piles got high after a while and I am short). In any case, here in DC my neighbors shovel and help each other out if for some reason they can't get it done. |
Sounds like you should’ve taken better care of your back and stayed physically fit. Now you just do the minimum and we all have to suffer collectively. |
I think you meant to say you’re not shoveling because you’re lazy. |
How are you suffering if I don’t shovel my driveway? And I must have missed the medical news that you can “take care of your back” when you have a degenerative disease. Post the articles you’ve read, I need to share those with my doctors. |
Sounds like spoiled wiseass wants some practice removing a size-13 wingtip from his rectum. |
I grew up in Canada, where taking care of the snow on the sidewalk is the norm. As is helping the elderly or otherwise disabled neighbors. Of course, many have snow blowers so it's not a big deal. And absolutely everyone clears the snow from the top of their cars. It's a big ticket in Canada if you drive with snow on the roof of your car. It'll cost you hundreds. That's dangerous for every other driver.
It's enlightening to read how many selfish, lazy, entitled, un-empathetic deadbeats live in the DMV. |
