Only ~14% Of U.S. Adults Have Gotten Latest Covid-19 Vaccine Update

Can I say the quiet part out loud? I am not convinced that the mRNA technology is safe. It’s brand new and there are only 3 years of experience with it. We know it risks heart damage for young men. It’s entirely possible that repeated mRNAs could pose a heart risk for more people in the long run. We just do not know and as far as I can tell the research is not being done. We don’t even know if repeated covid vaccination actually reduces risk. There has been research in flu vaccines suggesting that repeated vaccination can actually dampen immune response.

See, I can kinda understand why you might decide the booster isn’t for you. What I can’t understand is why you have to get all angry and worked up about it. THAT’S what makes you a weirdo.

Yea and it causes autism too! 🙄

Can I say the quiet part out loud?

You have a insufficient ability to think critically.

1.4 million in the US alone so far this year:

Sorry make that 1.14 million.

Sure over the entire pandemic but recently? It’s fairly low.

There could be a surge post-holidays.

It's okay. Just like we couldn't change behavior during the pandemic, we can't really get the stupid people to vax. Who cares if they die. I'm tired of caring at this point.

This is about boosters for people who already have the primary vax. When you call people who are vaccinated against covid “anti-vaxxers” you sound like a f-ing moron.

Yeah seriously! I've gotten 4 Covid shots! But to this person I'm anti-vax?!

Historically only about 35% of adults get the flu shot a year anyway. It's 36% this year. I mean why go in for the flu shot and then not get the COVID shot, it's silly.

But adults (18-64) have a low rate of vaccines in general.

It's odd that the 65 and older crowd get the flu vaccine at about 65% and are on pace to do that, but don't get the COVID shot while they are there.

I think for some people, including myself it was easier to find the flu shot near by than the new Covid

Where are you that you can't get both at the same time?

I was eventually able to get both. But back in late October when I was trying to make appointments for Covid vax, I would have had to drive like six or 7 miles, which doesn’t seem like such a big deal but when there are several pharmacies nearby, I just waited for one of them to have it and ultimately they did. However, with the flu vaccine it was everywhere and much easier to find and I got that first.

Where are you?

Yeah, that’s not helpful. The myocarditis causation is already established.

Additionally adding in unsupported messaging, e.g., this will help prevent long covid, or outright untruths, "this will keep you from transmitting to Grandma" continues to turn people off to the vaccine.

Totally agree! I think if the recommendation was "it's important for XYZ groups to get her vaccine," those ppl would pay more attention.

Saying young kids should be on their 4th+ shot just sounds really silly.

Care to expand on that? Adverse events are discovered *all the time* post-market for new medications. The myocarditis causation has been established already. Nobody has taken this type of vaccine repeatedly for more than 3 years.

What are we in for???

The same exact thing we would be in for if the majority of Americans got the latest booster.

The new shot lessens the severity but it is my understanding it ALSO lessens the virility/contagiousness of the virus.

It's not brand new at all. It's perfectly safe. And you're spewing complete and utter bullshit and should be ashamed of yourself.

It's one thing to be ignorant. It's quite another to present your ignorance as some sort of credible or valid position.

Is that dying FROM covid, or dying WITH covid? How many of those people were already in frail health?

if you are 80+ and get covid and die, even with other conditions, it is the covid that most likely pushed you over the edge. It is covid that caused it. So I don't see the difference, unless the person was in hospice already or stage 4 cancer.

I haven't been sick since omicron in January 2022. I travel, live with preschoolers, never wear a mask, and wash my hands less than most (in recovery from OCD). Tell me again how my immune system is messed with?

So you are one of the lucky ones. But for millions others, they have messed up their immune systems immensely and will get to live with that for a long time. I know many people with long covid, so just because you got lucky doesn't mean it's not a thing.

I see a massive difference, because an 80+ year old is already pretty close to dying. It's not the covid that caused them to die, so much as their age - It is NORMAL for a 80+ year old to die or at least be close to death.
