Nikki Haley - What are the chances

You're correct about her chances to be nominated as long as Trump is in the race. I am not on on the same page with most of Haley's political views but I think she does serve a purpose as it relates to the 2024 race as an example of a candidate Republicans should be voting for. She is obviously intelligent and articulates her viewpoints really well, she has applicable executive experience in government, and she is clearly mentally and physically fit while in the prime of her political career. Hopefully when Trump is gone Republican voters will turn back to candidates that don't embarrass their party. Whitmer and Bashear are examples of the types of candidates Dems should be choosing between for all the same reasons but of course they don't have permission to run because that would make too much sense.

And if Trump hadn’t run, Biden wouldn’t. But the GOP will run the contents of a Port a Potty and people never have anything bad to say about that.

Republicans love to play the victim, but you guys have a serious problem with racism and sexism. You pretending it’s our fault for noticing does not make that problem ours. DP.

There are some in the GOP that are as disgusted as those outside of the GOP at the percentage of people continuing to support Trump but yes, the GOP as a whole is a complete mess.

I’ve watched pretty much every debate (RNC and DNC) over the last 20-30 years and I think Haley is easily one of the least intelligent people that I’ve seen on a debate stage. She probably has Rick Perry beat in terms of intelligence, but that’s about it.

Has she commented on the Texas abortion case yet?

I wish someone would pin her down on this. Does she support Abbot's appeal and threats to jail the doctor?

A really really good way to make this happen is to *not* vote for Trump in 2024. Can Haley’s supporters manage that?

I'm not, I just know that my family members who vote MAGA are most definitely racists bigots, which is why they are MAGAs to start with. Not sure why republicans can't wrap their heads around that one.

Nikki Haley is too right wing for me; if she aligned more with Liz Cheney I might even consider voting for her, if I was even going to vote for a Republican again in my life.

Don't underestimate the appeal of mentally stable.

We have very mentally unstable on one side. And a physically unstable geriatric on the other.

A sane 51 year old would win a lot of votes just for being a sane 51 year old. And if she does somehow win the nomination, she would run the table on Biden. She'd win in a landslide.

I disagree with Haley on a lot of things, but I like her temperament. The bar is so low that being reasonably healthy and rational is enough to win the presidency.

I agree with all of the above.
But the base doesn’t care. Trump is their guy!
Shame for her. She would likely beat Biden in a head to head.
She’ll be up against a more formidable challenger in 2028. Shame for her.

She and many other normal candidates would beat Trump and Biden in a fair election with a sane electorate. We have neither.
