U2's lyrical content was never adolescent as is most of TS teeny bobber stuff either. I get that the moms have fun watching their daughters have fun. But at this crazy price point? Ridiculous. |
But those shows won't be any easier to get tickets too. All these same people will still want to go. And my teens are only teens once. Yes we (and they) recognize our HUGE privilege and we have discussed this at length. They understand this is once in a childhood from their dad and I. They next one is on them. |
Most of the attendees are not moms who are there to make their 10yo happy. I feel like that is the impression here. Most of the crowd are 20-40yo women who grew up with her. And yes some of them want to share the experience with their kids. So what? As for me, I am a 40something going with my 40something boyfriend and my 40something sister and her dd. I also go to many other different types of shows and music festivals. I love it all. No need to tear TS down to build others up. They all have value. |
And now you can say, "That's nice." |
I'd argue it's bigger than the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is one event. She's selling out Super Bowl sized crowds multiple nights in every city she tours. |
That’s so cool! The NFL is doing carbon offsets to help a city that held the Super Bowl https://spectrumnews1.com/ca/la-west/super-bowl/2022/02/09/nfl-program-super-bowl-carbon-footprint Maybe it is time for Taylor to look into It since she is bigger than the Super Bowl and all of you have such a large environmental impact. Many bands and events do! |
Ironic that U2's Las Vegas residency opens a new $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ venue and last I checked on Ticketmaster, decent seats in November were $1500. |
Cool, now the NFL can do something about concussions and sexual harassment in the work place and domestic abuse and "massage" parlors and trafficked women. Not to mention whoever photoshopped that promo pic of Carry Underwood. |
Were the wristbands only in LA? She’s a phenomenal performer. SUCH a meticulous, hard worker. I’m in awe. But, I do think the rock concerts I attended as a teen were also a super intense experiences with everyone collectively reaching and screaming and singing. I’m glad our kids’ generation has their version of this! I read an article fairly recently about “awe” and sharing a concert with strangers was one of the ways to experience it. |
The wristbands are at every show, but the ones in LA were bigger because they were filming for the documentary. |
LOL! Where in the world have you been OP? This is capitalism. Attending a concert is a privilege, not a right. Buy tv's music if you like it. |
I watched somebody's livestream on TikTok for free. |
And I see that what constitutes value for you is how much money her tour brings in. It is useless for me to debate you any further. |
+1- the bracelets are like “privilege puff girls unite!” But bigger in LA- cause the documentary ![]() |
I guarantee you’ve never listen to the majority of her music that’s not on radio play. Hardly teenybopper lyrics. I do not consider myself a Swifty, but I am a middle-aged woman who started looking more into her music more when my kids started to really liked her. You should see all the TikTok and Instagram videos of people from all sorts of life, even famous rappers, being like damn that woman can write. If you’re judging her by, shake it off or love story, you don’t understand what Taylor Swift is about. |
