The littles posters also seem to not understand that the anonymous nature of DCUM means that using cutesy language is always going to be less well received than it might be in a text to friends or when posting on Facebook. Those people know you, and may either share your affection for these terms or simply be willing to overlook it because they know and like you.

On DCUM, you are what you post. When you post comments about your kids and refer to them as "littles", other posters know nothing else about you, and you come off to a lot of people as unserious, twee, and a little dumb.

The lack of self awareness there is almost as annoying as the terms themselves.

At one point there was someone in the entertainment forum who kept referring to any verbose poster who disagreed with them as "Sanctimonious Twit." It was hilarious because at various points, they accused me of being Sanctimonious Twit, and at other points, they quoted me to try and prove a point to Sanctimonious Twit. But really they were just mad at any poster who could string together more than two sentences and didn't agree with them. I had a lot of fun with that one.

I’m not the baked ziti poster but I am a baked ziti semi-pro. Look up the pioneer woman’s recipe. It’s my favorite.
The quality of ingredients is the key to a good baked pasta. Get the best tomatoes and fresh basil and oregano for the sauce. Add a little red wine to the sauce and let it simmer for a couple of hours. Don’t rush. use fresh ricotta and mozzarella.
I don’t usually use fresh pasta for baked pasta dishes - in my opinion the dry boxed ziti cooked al dente works well for baking.

Go ahead and shame me, but after reading one of those threads, I Googled a recipe and made grape jelly meatballs (probably hasn’t had them since a church potluck when I was in elementary school) and while I wouldn’t eat them all the time, damn, they were good.
