Can someone unlock this article on their wedding announcement in NYT in 1999?

DP. I don’t know that making it public is any worse than just the basics of their dad working to not share custody. |
The easiest way to protect your reputation is not to do this type of stuff to begin with. |
Eh. Disagree. My takeaway was he saw her as an opportunity to move up in the world, as a senior associate probably already knew he wasn’t making partner, and he likely never loved her. Then because of the pandemic he just pulled the plug on the whole farce since he didn’t want to be stuck in the house with her and the kids. |
+1 You are what you are. You are what you do. Live your life in a way that it won't matter what's shared with others. |
Yes!! And the mystery would be to untangle the WHY! |
20 years is an awfully long time for a farce. |

It’s fascinating. Would love to have insight into his mind.
Would love to know what intimacy was like between them leading up to his exit. Many times you hear everything has fine, and there is truly no warning. Hard to imagine. |
It’s not that complicated. Men are very simple. His wife was like preoccupied, vapid and entitled. He met someone attractive and a joy to be with. Then Covid hit and he couldn’t see her anymore. He was stuck inside a mansion with a woman he couldn’t stand. He wanted to get away from her so badly that he even left the kids. The end. |
Oh I see. It was the wife’s fault. Thank you. |
Thanks! It's like they've come full circle. |
probably so? If he was crazy and the type to leave a 20 year old marriage for no reason, then there would have been plenty of signs he was a terrible person. |
I think he finally realized her name was FLOBELLE and got the hell out of there. WTH were her parents thinking? |
Completely disagree about it being the wife's fault (we don't know these people...) but the rest of the above seems completely right. He was sick of his life for whatever reason but having that affair made it manageable for him to stick it out and continue to charade. Once he could no longer see AP, he imploded. |
