If you could move anywhere in the US where would you live right now?

Seriously considered Ithaca a while back

Doesn't get as much snow as Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse, but I think it's much colder in winter

Couldn't find housing I liked, that ultimately pushed me away

Smallish city in the finger lakes region infused with an international flavor from the university (Cornell). All sorts of people there. Cool combo!

No kidding. Northern Michigan has got to be one of the whitest places in the union!!

That’s why Pete and chasten moved to traverse city!

It’s a feature not a bug.

75% of the US is white. What were you expecting?

No, it's not.

Probably Charleston. Maybe Troy, NY as I am having an online emotional fair with a 27yo bisexual vegan who produces amateur porn.

Please elaborate. You can’t just leave this here and not say more!

About 20 years ago, I was in a KFC in South Troy, and the woman in line directly in front of me cut the cheese. After doing so, she said “Ooh! Keisha a little gassy today!”

I’ve lived in a lot of places and…hear me out…Virginia is pretty great. Winters aren’t as harsh as my other favorite places (Boulder, Burlington, Maine sea coast). Summers aren’t as brutal as down south. Cultural stuff in this area is easy to access and often free (Smithsonians, street festivals, embassy events) and the park systems are really good.

And this is an odd thing, but the bugs get prehistoric when you go south of here.

So my answers aside from this immediate area: Charlottesville, Boulder (not in winter), Burlington (not in winter).

Breckenridge, CO or some other mountain town in CO.

Chicago! I love that city. Unfortunately DH refuses to move back there because he is completely against cold weather. It sucks. He’s from Greece and cold weather makes him very sad.

Me too.
My adult children live there and the weather is better there vs. other parts of CA during the Summer.

I just cannot afford to live there.

Crossing Troy off the list.

Seattle probably is too, but it's very beautiful, so I'd still consider something in the Seattle area. I might consider the NE too. In theory the SW but climate change and water shortages are real, so I'd ultimately decline putting more strain on their ecosystem.

I wouldn't move to the Pacific NW. https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/pacific-northwest-prepares-for-massive-earthquake
