The form the migrants signed specifically did NOT state anything the tweeter is claiming.
In fact, it states this:

"My decision to participate in Florida’s voluntary transportation program was not made in reliance on any oral or written statements or representations from any person other than those expressly contained in this Consent and Release. No representations or promises were made regarding employment, benefits, health care, immigration status, immigration assistance, housing, clothing, food, services, or any consideration of any sort, were made to me to obtain my consent to participate in this program, or to sign this Consent and Release."

Let California investigate. The form seems pretty thorough.......

Exactly! Everything was completely spelled out on that form, that they VOLUNTARILY signed - or in the case of the man in the article, verbally agreed to. Who is this moronic tweeter, claiming the migrants were lied to in any way? And the PP who posted that garbage - shame on you. Nothing at all was promised to them, other than a free flight to Sacramento. Talk about lying. Some more from the form they all signed:

"I understand that I am being provided air and/or bus transportation free of charge to me as outlined below in return for signing this document. ▪ I confirm the only promise or representation relied on by me in signing this Consent and Release is that I will be flown by the Transporting Party at no expense to me from Las Cruces, New Mexico to Sacramento, California, and that upon landing, I will be transported by the Transporting Party by bus or other vehicle at no expense to me to Catholic Charities of California."

Have the signed forms been produced? Where can we see the signed forms? If I can't see them, I have no reason to believe what was on them.
Were they provided in a language the signer could understand? Were interpreters provided? Where is there evidence of that?

At a bare minimum, based on what's being claimed about that form, they were undeniably promised they would be received by Catholic Charities of California. How was that promise guaranteed by Florida? Did Florida make arrangements with Catholic Charities of California? Did Florida give Catholic Charities of California any resources for dealing with the migrants being sent to them?

JFC. No words. All of this is explained - very clearly - in the linked article. But do continue with your conspiracy theories.

The United States is a nation of immigrants. Except for Native Americans, we are all descended from immigrants. We need immigrants to fill jobs and pay taxes and maintain and grow our economy.
The GOP are beyond callous towards undocumented immigrants, most of whom are brown-skinned. They are not animals or property, they are human beings who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect for their humanity.

A lot of these people have documents. Just because the US is a nation of immigrants doesn't mean they should continue letting in more, or letting people come in illegally.

Biden and Obama also transport illegal immigrants across the country and dump them. Secret flights in the middle of the night to small airports so people won't know about it.

"But but but, that's diffffffffffferrrrrrrrrrrenttttt!!"

dp.. it is actually. Immigration issues are under the federal government's purview, not individual states.

Don't bother. The PPs have no interest in learning. They love to giggle over snappy headlines and really don't care about the reality or nuances. There are old threads where people explained it, but they refused to accept it.

And, when the federal government refuses to enforce our laws and deal with illegal immigration, the states are left to pick up the pieces.
Texas DPS and the Texas National Guard has been forced to prevent a lot of the illegal immigration because Joe is hellbent on bringing in millions of illegal migrants.

No it doesn't. There are very clearly contradictory accounts, and the form SacBee has was what was provided to them by Florida; we have not seen any actual form actually signed by migrants to confirm it is the same - the article also says some were transported without signing the consent form. Also, it lists transport to Catholic Charities of California yet it is Catholic Charities of California that is raising the red flags, which clearly indicates a lack of coordination and clearly indicates problems.

The only JFC here is your lack of critical inquiry.

Bush did the same. But, what were the TX and FL governors doing then?

Regardless, I was replying to ... ""But but but, that's diffffffffffferrrrrrrrrrrenttttt!!"." Biden and Obama and Bush sending illegal immigrants across state lines is different than a state doing it.

Maybe SF should send all their mentally ill to FL and TX. They seem to embrace the mentally ill of MAGA.

Show me where they voted to have people randomly bussed around and dumped homeless on street corners?

+1000. Biden, Obama and Bush did it via CBP.

And yes, SF should send all of their mentally ill to FL and TX, since that's what they keep voting for.

On a legal level, I'm not sure states have the authority to transport illegal immigrants to other states. However, on a moral level, it's hypocritical to declare yourself a sanctuary city and then complain when illegal immigrants come to your town that had declared a commitment to host and care for them.

I have to wonder how this will work for California and abortion laws. They are seeking to be a sanctuary state for all people seeking abortions, and to pay for the abortions. At some point, they may find that they cannot keep up with demand. Even if the $ works out by attracting tourists-- take a vacation and get the abortion free-- there are a limit to how many doctors and hospitals can supply abortions, especially for late stage and complicated ones.

I think it may not be wise to announce that you will care for and provide for anyone who appears within your state borders.

It's also hypocritical for so many people to escape to blue states for their abortions but keeping voting for Rs because of .. low taxes, build the wall, or whatever flavor of the month Rs are pushing to sidetrack MAGA from looking too closely at Trump's criminal behavior.

Just like Eric Adams, announcing illegal immigrants would be welcomed with open arms to NYC - until they got far more than they had bargained for. Oh well...
