Immigrants sent to sanction cities

The United States is a nation of immigrants. Except for Native Americans, we are all descended from immigrants. We need immigrants to fill jobs and pay taxes and maintain and grow our economy.
The GOP are beyond callous towards undocumented immigrants, most of whom are brown-skinned. They are not animals or property, they are human beings who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect for their humanity.

A lot of these people have documents. Just because the US is a nation of immigrants doesn't mean they should continue letting in more, or letting people come in illegally.

Biden and Obama also transport illegal immigrants across the country and dump them. Secret flights in the middle of the night to small airports so people won't know about it.

"But but but, that's diffffffffffferrrrrrrrrrrenttttt!!"

dp.. it is actually. Immigration issues are under the federal government's purview, not individual states.

The form the migrants signed specifically did NOT state anything the tweeter is claiming.
In fact, it states this:

"My decision to participate in Florida’s voluntary transportation program was not made in reliance on any oral or written statements or representations from any person other than those expressly contained in this Consent and Release. No representations or promises were made regarding employment, benefits, health care, immigration status, immigration assistance, housing, clothing, food, services, or any consideration of any sort, were made to me to obtain my consent to participate in this program, or to sign this Consent and Release."

Let California investigate. The form seems pretty thorough.......

Honestly it’s not much worse than dumping money on endless homeless services where we all know that involuntary commitment is about the only effective measure with most of them.
Not saying I support it; what I want to say is that so much of govt spending is money down the drain anyway

THIS ^^. I guess the PP would prefer we continue to flush money away on "root cause" BS.

Not dealing with root causes is like trying to deal with a deep gushing arterial wound that can only be fixed with surgery by just putting a bandaid over it.

You realize we've thrown money at "root causes" for decades and decades. How'd that work out for us?

No we didn't. We did a lot of other crazy shit under the guise of "helping" but it was usually stupid "war on drugs" crap or CIA funded coups with massive black budgets that had absolutely nothing do do with stabilizing our neighbors to the south. But it did make a lot of American contractors and other connected people very rich.

See, I'm not talking about that stuff, I'm talking about actual change, which we haven't actually tried.

Wow, are you clueless. This is just the tip of the iceberg:

"Key U.S. government agencies, consisting of the Departments of State (State), Agriculture, and Defense, and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) allocated a total of about $3.7 billion in assistance for Central America from fiscal years 2013 through 2018."

"Vice President Kamala Harris unveiled an additional $310 million in U.S. aid to Central America after a virtual meeting with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei on Monday, as the two countries agreed to work together to control migration."

Thank you for proving the idiot who claimed we gave "trillions of dollars" to Central America. For the record, typically Central America only got around 1% of the US foreign aid budget and it was not even remotely "trillions."

What did Trump do to work with Guatemala to control migration? Nothing, other than calling Guatemala a "shythole country."

You seem confused. I'm the PP and I'm also the "idiot" who claimed we've given trillions of dollars to CA. Which we have, over many decades. The links, above, only show the billions given from 2013-present day. Do you really need it spelled out for you that every administration going back many years has sent billions to Central American countries? Which, cumulatively, equals trillions?

See if you can comprehend all of that. I have faith in you.

Exactly. Democrats always vote for these asinine politicians, who promise to do asinine things, and then seem SO very shocked when those things actually happen. They should be reveling in these busloads of illegal immigrants.

Exactly! Everything was completely spelled out on that form, that they VOLUNTARILY signed - or in the case of the man in the article, verbally agreed to. Who is this moronic tweeter, claiming the migrants were lied to in any way? And the PP who posted that garbage - shame on you. Nothing at all was promised to them, other than a free flight to Sacramento. Talk about lying. Some more from the form they all signed:

"I understand that I am being provided air and/or bus transportation free of charge to me as outlined below in return for signing this document. ▪ I confirm the only promise or representation relied on by me in signing this Consent and Release is that I will be flown by the Transporting Party at no expense to me from Las Cruces, New Mexico to Sacramento, California, and that upon landing, I will be transported by the Transporting Party by bus or other vehicle at no expense to me to Catholic Charities of California."

Hmm. Last I checked, human traffickers don't require a consent form before transporting people (of their own free will) to places they would like to go. But you go, girl!

Have the signed forms been produced? Where can we see the signed forms? If I can't see them, I have no reason to believe what was on them.
Were they provided in a language the signer could understand? Were interpreters provided? Where is there evidence of that?

At a bare minimum, based on what's being claimed about that form, they were undeniably promised they would be received by Catholic Charities of California. How was that promise guaranteed by Florida? Did Florida make arrangements with Catholic Charities of California? Did Florida give Catholic Charities of California any resources for dealing with the migrants being sent to them?

Yes, sending billions and billions and billions of dollars (is that more palatable to you than simply saying trillions?) has proven to be so helpful. Let's keep doing it!

If consent is based on a lie then it's still human trafficking.

I have yet to see a signed consent form for every person who was transported. I have yet to see affidavits or anything else confirming that anything was signed by the actual parties involved and that they fully understood what they were signing.

An investigation should be conducted to find out.
