2024 Boys Private School Results /Game Schedules/ Commentary

On to Lacrosse. Bullis implodes. Prep falls off but still vies for the Championship. Landon Improves. St. Albans drops off. St. Stephens improves. Episcopal - depends on the transfer portal. They had a great team this year with some excellent offensive players. When was the last time they had players going to Duke and UVA to play lacrosse instead of football? If they can get ahold of some more ACC bound players, they will keep getting better. They got really good in football with coach Vulgaris, maybe the lacrosse coach can take a page out of his book and get the Lacrosse Team Rolling.

Too early to tell if Bullis implodes. Bellistri and his staff are the best in the IAC. The Bulldogs will remain competitive and be in the hunt like they always are.

Landon should take a big step forward next spring given how many kids are returning. The coaching at Wilson Lane is suspect under the new regime.

Prep is a wildcard. They bring back some talent on offense and should remain stout at the defensive side of the field. It's to be determined how many boarding transfers will be showing up at GP come September. I suspect Urick is keeping this "off the radar" not to alienate the blue-blood GP families.

STA will take a step back if that's even possible. We will hear the same story next spring "STA doesn't recruit, our academics are better than yours"

EHS is the dark horse. It's an all-boarding, the head coach can change the make-up of their team in one off-season as the Maroon have the money to buy a team if the administration wants to keep the pedal down.

Someone said no IAC teams will play the Cadets next year. I get it. Why schedule someone you already know you can’t compete with? Schedule the weaker WCAC teams and act like you’re doing something. Compare scores and come up with a hypothetical head to head score.🙃

Pick up the phone when you’re out drinking with your douche bag parents coaches. Stop being cowards.

And NO Coach Speaks isn’t interested in coaching at your schools. Damn boosters need to stop asking. 🥴

Not sure why Bullis would implode?? They are stacked with their 2025 class (huge number of them, playing together for years) and have great coaching. Prep and Landon will always be there. STJ and Zaga will both be solid and as good as this year or better. I think next spring will be a great one for area lax.

Bullis graduated two starting defensemen, two starting attackmen (though Wade was out for most of the season) and two starting middies.

What makes you think Bullis will be any better in the Spring of 2024 as their 2024 class is weak? Spring of 2025 Bullis will most likely contend.

Is the 2025 attacker transferring out or staying at Falls Road?

Based on what I am seeing:

1. SJC - until proven otherwise
2. Landon - returns a talented and deep 2024 senior class and a solid 2025 class.
3. Prep - the junkyard will be bringing in a few marquee boarders to keep them afloat in the IAC next year
4. Gonzaga - has all the talent in the world but the program has a serious discipline problem and can't stay focused for an entire season
5. PVI - Panthers have the athletes to run and compete with anyone
6. Bullis - addition by subtraction with a few of the departing seniors.
7. EHS - a dark horse in the IAC and I can assure you a few senior transplants will show up in August
8. SS/SA - the Saints didn't graduate any studs from their 2023 class
9. St Albans - similar to Bullis, STA might surprise teams next spring. Solid 2025 class.
10. DeMatha - Mitchell better have the Stags contending for a WCAC championship by the end of his 3rd season

This looks close but I'd swap DeMatha and STA. Heights is probably comparable with STA.

Didn’t SJC just lose to a Texas Highland Patk team? If so, missing 3 players shouldn’t have dictated the outcome against a weak Texas opponent. I would think SJC could have beaen HP without any of their seniors. I think we all know who’s in for a long spring. lol! Good luck.
