Yes and no. Discord and other gaming platforms are known haunts for questionable characters to exchange information.

It's like the nerds version of TikTok.

All teenagers are "questionable characters".

Funny, some say that the DCUM platform is a known haunt for questionable characters exchanging information.

Don’t you mean questionable opinions?

So how did a camera get inside a SCIF?

Oh, FFS. Someone in Congress did not leak this.

Perhaps if leaks had been taken more seriously in the past, this crap would not be happening.

People have been leaking stuff for a while now, and very rarely suffer any ramifications.

Republican congressmen showed during the first impeachment that they have no respect for SCIFs.

Exactly. And everyone I know who works in SCIFs is under strict rules about phones and cameras.

I will snicker a little when we find that this leak was from some far-left Democrat trying to impress his friends.

❌❌❌
He’s a “young, charismatic gun enthusiast.”

Washington Post reporters got hold of members of the Discord channel where the leaks were posted, they know the poster, and said he is in his 20s, currently serving in the military, conservative, gun enthusiast, and he got the documents from a military base that he serves on. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/04/12/discord-leaked-documents/

Will probably get caught very soon.

The military needs to purge every young conservative gun enthusiast.

Lol and he left with who? Upper Caucasia keyboard warriors? That’s not really their demographics, you know.

They did not say he was serving in the military. They said he works on a military post. There are plenty of civilians who work on military bases and posts.

Where in the posted article did they say he was "conservative?" Or, serving in the military? Citation needed.

Wow, that teenager they interviewed for the Post article is completely brain-washed by OG (the man allegedly responsible for the leaks). He declares that since he's his best friend, he will decline to name him or his whereabouts to any federal agents who ask him, until he's captured. And the teen goes so far as to admit he's been in recent contact with OG. OG is not anti-Russian or anti-Ukraine, and not a whistleblower either like Snowden - he basically wanted to to create a cult with his young followers and control them by impressing them with his "superior" knowledge of military intelligence.

I hope all these youngsters will realize one day they've been manipulated. OG on the other hand deserves spend some years in prison to reflect.

The PP is trying to make you be more specific.

OG's Discord server is a group for religious (Christian, because reference to God), gun and military enthusiasts. They also share dirty jokes, and OG is filmed using racist and antisemitic slurs. Politics may not be a big part of his identity: political views are not reported, and if he had uttered MAGA opinions, I'm sure the WaPo would have been all over it!
What is true is that he appears to lean into "government is hiding stuff from us and you need to be prepared" conspiracy territory.

Also, he could be working on a base while not belonging to the military.
