When I look at the US Club Lacrosse rankings (tried to add link below) Madlax Capital is ranked #28 nationally (Madlax Monuments is ranked #30) and Madlax Capital and Monuments appear to be the best ranked from Virgina where they are ranked #28, #30, respectively, and the next highest Virginia team, Richmond Hawks, is ranked #130?

Why are DCE, TC, True, etc, etc, etc, not highly ranked?

I’m truly curious after reading the thread. I have no dog in the fight. No connection to any of the aforementioned travel teams. I’m just confused why the down talk about Madlax when they seem to be a great program for 2028s who want to get national exposure.

Those emails have to be fake, right?

It's real. The player went to play for VLC and then UVA.

Cabell built a top 3 DMV lacrosse powerhouse. He is a good businessman and became very wealthy through the process. His personality and character is what people talk about. This is also why so many Virginia parents who wanted VLC to be a Cabell Maddux alternative were so disappointed. They are looking for alternative solutions at NL and BLC now.

Seeing some of the kids that made the 'A' teams makes me wonder if there just isn't the quality of kids in this grad year relative to other years. Lacrosse is my son's 3rd favorite sport that he plays (so doesn't pick up a stick outside of practice/games) and he better than kids I see on the DCE, NL and ML A teams which shouldn't be the case (and isn't for my older kids).

What other sports does you son play?

Agree. VLC has been a massive disappointment. Poor organization, poor communication, middling coaching, terrible feilds. They don’t even have a 28 team this year because all the parents couldn’t take it anymore. Such a shame too because DCE is totally oversubscribed at both the orange and black levels. What a waste of an opportunity.

They are not fake and let’s just say, CM has not changed his ways one bit. Dude is a complete nut job.

Until someone comes along and decides to displace him. He continues to burn bridges at all levels of DMV lacrosse— HS coaches, parents, kids, and so on… DM at Next Level managed to come in and put a huge dent in his business, and there’s room for another. Only a matter of time.

Lacrosse is my son's 3rd favorite sport that he plays (so doesn't pick up a stick outside of practice/games) and he better than kids I see on the DCE, NL and ML A teams which shouldn't be the case (and isn't for my older kids).

Sounds like you definitely know what you are talking about. Thank you for sharing your insight. The whole board is better for your commentary.

Football and basketball.

At least one kid from VLC's 2028 B team made Madlax Capital. If that doesn't tell you where the program is headed then you're a lost cause.

Point being that the overall talent level of the 2028 class is subpar relative to previous years.

VLC’s A team is a B team. So yeah— says it all.

Which club did you son play for? Such a dumb, arbitrary statement to make. Maybe your son is better than you realize at lacrosse.
DMV teams have been very good on the national level. Madlax was the top team nationally until it started to unravel 2 years ago. NL has been very solid as well. Hawks and FCA, while not technically DMV, are top 5-10 in the nation and have some kids from the DMV playing with them. They will all place kids at the top schools come graduation, just as previous classes have done.
