He played such an ass in Bridesmaids, I have to wonder if he is somehow like that in real life.

Spot on. He IS an ass in real life. I'll refer you to page 3 of this thread

Jon Hamm is evil. I remember this hazing incident as a student at UT. This incident is what led the university to eventually close the chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity.

Here's the list of his abuses detailed by his victim in the lawsuit:

Hamm hooked the claw of a hammer underneath his testicles and pulled him around the room 'for at least a minute'.

Hamm spanked Sanders repeatedly with a paddle. 'I'm hurting bad, I mean being hit right where the kidney is, it's killing me'

Hamm and another fraternity member then lifted Sanders up by his underwear, pulling it back and forth in a sawing motion. 'I don't know how far underwear stretches, I don't know how far I was off the ground,' he recalled.

'I was hurting really bad and I remember I was looking up at the ceiling and I was gritting my teeth and squinting my eyes ... it was sawing and it was hurting.'

Sanders told investigators how Hamm then led him to 'the pit' where he ordered him to do press-ups and pushed his face into the ground. The distraught pledge felt someone, possibly Hamm, standing on his back.

Hamm is then supposed to have set fire to Sanders' pants and refused to let him pat the flames down, instead making him blow them out.

The victim suffered nerve damage to his ribs, kidney spasms and a lineal spinal fracture. He almost lost his kidney.

Wholeheartedly agree. Well except for the talented actor. I think he's marginally talented and generally just acting like himself but has skated by on his looks.
As for husband/ father material some women only care about the bank account

Exactly this. A has-been who shills for soccer and mayonnaise. He disgusts me and epitomizes everything wrong with Hollywood.

Love him! Why don't people pick on Mark Wahlberg instead? He is an actual criminal who cannot act.

Please trash the sanctimonious criminal, Mark Wahlberg. He was on the Today Show last week with ashes for Ash Wed. Gross.

Rumor was that she enabled his partying. He's looking pretty healthy these days though, so fingers crossed. But, yeah, I feel bad for his ex.

I truly do not understand why people feel bad for Jennifer Westfeldt. I think their breakup was her idea. They were together a long time. JW did not want kids and was focused on writing and directing (and still is). I do not get a sense that she pined away for a family with Hamm and will be devastated to discover he's starting a family with someone else.

I think people like to impose a specific paradigm on this relationship that doesn't apply. If JW had wanted to have kids with someone, I think she would have. Maybe even with Hamm. She didn't. They grew apart, the still seem to care about each other.

Stop trying to turn a happy and successful woman who seems to have always done exactly what she wanted into a victim just because her life doesn't look they way you want YOUR life to look. She's not you.

I agree with this. I really like Jennifer westfeldt and Jon hamm. If she wanted to have kids and wasn’t getting that with him, she could have left. I definitely would have left any partner I was with who didn’t want marriage and kids. Possible she was perfectly happy or undecided. Possible they bother were .

I also agree with you both. I think she left him because his alcoholism got too deep and he had too much of a reputation in NYC for a drunken wandering eye pathetically trying to pick up college girls (rumors were it rarely worked for those 60 year olds thinking young women will be all over them). She had enough and walked. I don't think she ever wanted kids, but she did want a partner who didn't consistently embarrass her.

But he has a hot, younger fiancee. Something worked.
