Lax dads are the ultimate douchebags. It's great people watching. |
Why is this thread on the independent school thread? Or are all the loutish and douchebag lax dads only from the private schools?! |
I can almost tolerate you lax dads yelling at your kids. It's when you start yelling at my kid that gets my blood boiling. |
What's with the lacrosse socks I see on all of those prep school boys? |
Agreed. It is also b/c lacrosse is one of the few remaining sports where you average suburban white kid has a fighting chance of playing sports at the college level. |
lax is a niche game that a tiny handful of people have invested the time to learn and who attempt to create some aura around it that only they and striver wannabees buy into. there's a reason why there's no viable professional league. |
Wrong. Lacrosse is exploding in popularity. In the south, Midwest, Colorado and California |
In this area, unfortunately, LAX's reputation, goes hand in hand with the Landon School. |
Such BS. If you think that you know very little about the sport. There are many other schools that routinely produce as good and better squads (G'town Prep, Gonzaga, Good Counsel, SSSA, St Albans....). Likewise girls' lax is also huge and certainly not associated with Landon. Lax is one of the fatsest growing sports in the country and in our area. If you dont like it, dont play it and dont come to the games. There are enough of us who do like the sport and are not dissuaded by Landon scandals. Landon and lax are not synonymous. And, let us just note, Football, Golf, Tennis, Baseball, Cycling, Track & Field, etc... have just as many scandals and nasty stories, more actually, than lax. Quit blaming the sport for your own insecurities about where you or your child fit in the sports world. |
I thought Baltimore and LAX went hand in hand. |
``And, let us just note, Football, Golf, Tennis, Baseball, Cycling, Track & Field, etc... have just as many scandals and nasty stories, more actually, than lax. Quit blaming the sport for your own insecurities about where you or your child fit in the sports world.''
Oh, my. I guess we just proved where the real insecurity lies. What a weird, overly hostile, overly caffeinated response. |
Being physically fit is something we should all strive for, but I don't get the whole sports mania thing. It all seems regressive and gladiatorial (only in the figurative sense of the word) to me. |
Hardly. Perhaps you are just hyper-sensitive. |
``Hardly. Perhaps you are just hyper-sensitive.''
Glad to see the chill pill is kicking in. Breathe, relax, breathe, relax. That's it....good job. |
Exploding? Perhaps relatively speaking. It's gone from 600 kids who can play well to 1300 kids. Look out -- lax and women's roller derby is taking the world by storm!! ![]() |
