All-Star Relays -- Why Was the NVSLs Premier Event Such a Disaster

This is why we can't have nice things.

We may not all agree on tone, but it seems like there are three pieces of constructive criticism coming out of this that it would be good for Hamlet to hear if they are doing this next year.

1) More Bleachers along the back of the pool
2) More porta-potties in the swimmer area
3) Mats for kids going to clerk of course

League should step up and help with any expense related to these.

What I gather is that this would move smoothly without complaint if Chesterbrook, Overlee and Tuckahoe were separated and had their own meet.

Why not just limit all parent spectators-they can drop off and watch on the live stream? Would be a lot more room for the swimmers and volunteers.

Are there areas for improvements, sure, but people on here are so dramatic calling it a disaster.

Because the number of port-a-lets was so inadequate, the whole site reeked of port-a-potty half-an-hour into the meet. The walk to clerk was perilous for kids, and there had been no forethought given to putting down any sort of mat to protect kids from stumbling over tree roots, rocks, etc.

The Hamlet personnel were rude, abrasive and obviously never wanted to host the meet. I am not sure I blame them. There has got to be a better way to run this meet. Charge every team a $100 relay entry fee and use the money to rent bleachers and to entice a pool that actually wants to host as opposed to the outright hostility of the Hamlet folks.

The NVSL should be utterly ashamed tonight. What a travesty....

Nvsl so far behind MCSL. The rmsc rays are dirty cheaters but they host nice invite meets

What's the beef with the RMSC Rays. They've been nothing but nice to us the times we've swam them.

I haven't seen a 10 lane, but Vienna Aquatics has 8, which makes B meets run faster. But they don't have the land or area near by to host such a big event.

LOL. We were there for a B meet a few years ago-its a beautiful pool and the ten lanes made the meet go much faster. You sound high maintenance.

All spectator seating at Individual All Stars will be single event seating. Teams will be assigned team areas.
