Capital Lacrosse Tryouts

Agree, don't see many of the Pride or Stars 26 players moving/leaving and stay together. Pride seems to be picking up steam as their 27 team is also very strong while Stars is bad at 27 and 28.

The entire Pride and Stars teams will try out for Capital this year, just like the 25s did. They won’t make the same mistake the Pride 23s did by trying to stay together. Some Pride girls will make Capital, which will open up spots on Pride 26.

Does MC have its tryouts way before Capital for 26? How does that work for girls on the team now and also for those who want to use as a back-up. Seems a little tricky to navigate… anyone have insight?

A lot of teams will offer an early look/tryout for girls they’re interested in—could be an early tryout for a few girls in the same situation, could be coming to a practice or if the coach has seen the girl play in enough games that could be enough. Hopefully no coach/club wants girls to be in bad situation of not having a team so they’ll work with families.

Any Pride girls who don’t try out for Capital are fools.

Our experience has always been that clubs will extend your time to make a decision if you are attending other tryouts. No clubs wants to force a player to make a decision before they are ready. We were up front with our current club that we wanted our daughter to attend 1 more tryout elsewhere before she made her decision and they were fine with that.

Most current clubs will. New clubs often won't. Their perspective is why did you try out for a new club if you weren't sure you wanted to join.

And clubs like M&D will essentially blackball you if you try out and don't accept...

My daughter refuses to tryout or play for M&D. Being friends with a few girls and having played with some she still has no desire to go there.

Great, do you want a prize or something? No one cares. Back to playing for the clown show that is DMV lax with Pride, Stars and Capital.

Uhhh… Pride has hung their hat on making you make a decision and pay before Stars/Capital decisions. KM makes you pay twice if you want to leave.

I think it depends on how good the girls is/how in demand she is with other teams. Plus politics factors as to high school coaches, siblings, relationships etc.

But I think capital is before pride tryouts but afte mr mc elite

I think MC would want the $$ also and is not going to let you shop … they want to lock in people, hence, really early tryouts. Know it sounds like the right thing for girl to get to decide; but there are other incentives and they don’t want to lose girls that may be the “next up” on their list for A team to another club.
