WTF are you talking about? My pre-med has been taking college level courses since sophomore year. All sorts of subjects.

DP: AP/IB/DE Community College classes aren't really college equivalents.

Yeah they are.

Agree! It’s crazy how schools want kids to list majors (not just schools) when they apply.

I have triplets - all 3 of them are going to be going to different schools next year

One is headed to Clemson to study Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science in their National Scholars Program

One is headed to W&L to study History & Politics with a Johnson Scholarship

One is headed to UVA to study Commerce as an Echols Scholar

no they really aren't (not PP). My DD aced all their AP and DE classes, not so much when they actually got to a real college.

UVa must think differently than you, regarding classes taken at community colleges.

At some schools you are committed, but at many others its just an "intended major," which generally helps the school know they can keep all the professors' classes filled instead of accepting 500 students who all want [insert popular major here], which would mean most of them couldn't get the classes they need, and then you have unhappy kids and underutilized professors.

OP here - I realize many kids (including my own) may change major but since one typically applies to a school/college within the university based on some sort of intended major, I thought that was relevant and also interesting to see what schools kids are choosing for their interests.

Thanks so much to all who have posted - I’ve enjoyed seeing the end results of our kids’ hard work.

+1. Congrats to you, PP, as well. Raising multiples is no easy feat, not to mention funding 3 tuitions at once.
