I have worked in both an office in a male dominated field and in a school. The difference in inter-office politics was stark. Both places totally have them, but how they are expressed was different. A lot more gossip in school, a lot more cussing to your face in the male-dominated office. |
IDK. My kid is masking because of APs, prom and spring break travel. All the drama kids she knows are masked up because of the spring lay. She wouldn’t mask or unmask just because that’s what the majority of kids are doing. But I’m sure some kids are sheep. |
Because if you get COVID, isolation is still 10 days. FCPS has not moved to 5 days plus 5 masked, because “lunch”. So, it might just be cold like symptoms. But it could ruin the AP window, prom, spring musical… |
That also implies you believe the masks provide protection. If your kid is wearing a respirator, they do of course. Remember some people choosing to unmask just didn't think the costs of consistently and correctly wearing a respirator all the time were worth it.Other kids, like yours, disagree. Fine either way. |
| If your kid gets Covid, she stays home for a day or two until she feels better. No one is staying home for ten days. Don't be a sucker. |
+10000. No one is telling the schools their kids have Covid. Good Lord. Miss prom? They've missed enough. |
Our school requires a negative lab test any time your child is absent (for any illness). How do you get around that? |
That's against FCPS policy and has been since the start of the school year. If you keep your kid home (versus them getting sent home from school), no test. It was to incentivize people staying home when sick. You must not be in FCPS. |
Spoken like a true DMV parents, spring break is the most important outcome -- more important than health well-being and safety. |
+1,000,000. Wypipo don't get it. Masks are not political instruments for us. They are life and death decisions. |
That's not the policy. It's a negative test IF THEY GET SENT HOME with Covid symptoms. Just take a photo of a negative at-home covid test once. Then send that photo whenever you need "Proof" of a negative test. |
Agree. No one is missing ten days of school. |
Oh, which FCPS school is this? That's not the policy AT ALL. |
Let's be clear, you're going to send your COVID-positive child to school maskless so s/he can infect other kids/teachers/staff? Got it. |
You people are the problem. Selfish and disrespectful to others. |
