As a teacher, I’m so happy they made it optional for staff as well. |
| Conveniently same day as Gov order but FCPS ignoring that. It’s the right result - I just don’t seeing how they are playing politics. |
| Optional. Some students may choose to keep wearing a mask. |
| All along Gov's timing was just to take credit for something that was never about him. |

I think it's hilarious that fcps is doing this ONLY bc the transmission level is low and not bc of Youngkin or CDC said so.
It's like when I told my teen to be home by 1030pm b/c that's late enough for her. Despite this reasonable curfew, she fussed and complained...but then she ended up coming home on time, BUT not b/c I said so, but b/c she was tired . |
No, they were forced but it doesn’t matter. It’s like a kid pretending that they want to do something knowing that if they don’t it’s their hide. |
| I live that teachers have the option too. It will make it easier for kids to unmask. |
+1. It was dumb to say that teachers still had to wear it when kids didn't. |
I think majority of teachers will keep masking at least till spring break. There are many immunocompromised, pregnant or teachers with little ones at home. My teammate and I just discussed and we both plan on masking for a little while longer. |
You may think it was dumb, but FCPS had to follow the law. Teachers were under a different rule set by the Virginia Department of Labor. The legislation that passed recently only applied to students and went into effect on Tuesday. Now that the CDC has adjusted its guidelines, employees are no longer required to mask. |
| FCPS has so much egg on their face it’s not even funny! |
+1, I’m not risking my spring break travel. So my kids will make until then as will I when I am around students. |
What are you even talking about? This makes no sense. |
| Incorrect - its not no more masks. It's mask optional. |
