3) Others, including perhaps some who voted across party lines, are waiting a bit before casting judgment

But that’s not the norm for Virginia politics. Even four years ago when Northam took office there wasn’t such an extreme political divide. Unfortunately Youngkin’s first moves after taking office were hyper partisan and divisive, which set an ugly tone.

I could see that- there were definitely republicans that did not like Trump, and didn’t see the point in voting when VA was clearly going to go to Clinton/Biden. Youngkin was more appealing to this group.

Maybe the schools issue wasn’t the main driver, but it was still there, and it certainly swayed the results in NoVA.

He is not doing what he said he would do. He said he would allow localities to decide on mask mandates and instead he wanted them banned at the state level like TX and FL.

And that's a problem for you why, exactly?

DP but before the primary I heard her say, with my own ears, that we should not have Red Flag laws at all. This in a state where an obviously mentally ill non citizen was able to purchase two 9mm pistols, extended magazines and over 1000 rounds of ammo with no questions asked. He later killed 32 students and faculty at Virginia Tech.

I’m also wondering why op research did not look into her SBA loans. If you’re a journalist I just gave you a good clue.

While ignoring the bomb threat against Hampton University.

You sure about that, dummy?

Truth? It was a lie to suggest he was a moderate. A moderate would not be as polarizing as Youngkin has already proven himself to be.

All this man does is campaign, divide and go on Fox News. He isn’t even trying to learn, let alone do the job.

I don't get why people like Winsome Sears are so hellbent on letting mentally ill people have guns.

I’d have to look into the process for getting someone declared mentally ill and confiscating anything they have.

Who decides, what is the process for reviewing/appealing that decision.

These sorts of laws are generally used against the poor and black Americans to deny them the rights of citizenship.

Anyway.

How’s that grocery tax thing coming?

Maybe because they are mentally ill people with guns? That’d be my guess. Winsome always seemed a little cookoo to me, and the media did a real disservice by not reporting on her in any meaningful way.

They sure did. How fake is this? I know I never wear a white dress when practicing with my assault rifle.

Stop with the masks. One drumbeat which, finally, the CDC is shutting down. Although the crazy mask people will now say CDC is not reliable. Find a higher issue to whine about.

Who ever claimed he was a moderate?

He’s pro-life RWNJ trash. Who wore a vest.

The point is he lied - he didn’t do what he said he would do. The cdc guidance changed later and they made clear masks might be necessary in the future. Youngkin barred localities from accessing that tool.
