I think US corporations like Nike should (an likely will) sponsor her! |

Still just 18, Gu is not only one of the world’s best skiers, but she has an entire second career and is backed by some of the biggest brands on the planet. In addition to her first Beijing medal, Gu has won two golds each at the FIS World Championships and X Games across various disciplines. She holds sponsorship deals with Red Bull, Beats by Dre, and Cadillac, as well as Chinese companies JD.com and China Mobile. Gu is also a fashion model, landing campaigns for Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co., and appearing on covers for Elle and Vogue. She reportedly averages $2.5 million per endorsement and may have made around $15.8 million through her deals last year. https://frontofficesports.com/eileen-gu-is-one-of-the-most-marketable-athletes/#:~:text=She%20holds%20sponsorship%20deals%20with,covers%20for%20Elle%20and%20Vogue. |
Well fortunately for her Americans are shallow and will just see that she’s a “pretty gold medal girl.” |
Come back to talk when you have given away $100 million $$ to fight ethnic cleansing in the world. And excuse me, the entire western civilization is built on ethnic cleansing. So unless you are native American, you are a direct beneficiary of exactly that. |
This will make the sour grapes into bitter grapes. |
Name one major company that has taken a stand against China? |
| Beats is owned by Apple, Cadillac by GM |
Last I checked CA allows Republicans to live there too. |
| I can see why she decided to dump her American passport to compete for China. Greed. She's never going to be a "big" star in the US because skiing is such a minor sport. The level that korean american snowboarder who won a gold medal is probably the level she could attain if she stayed a us citizen. Doesn't mean we can't hate her for being such a sellout and being a pawn of such an evil government. Go Taiwan! |
I’m sure she was paid a handsome sum by China and I’m equally sure that all of the outraged imbeciles on this thread would sell their soul and their country for a similar payout. |
I hope she doesnt get peng shuaied. |

Bitter grapes should at least get the facts right before spewing out poison.
Gu is a dual citizen and does not have to give up the US passport. The corporations (including the US ones) that sponsored her pay her the money. |
She didn't answer the question about her american citizenship. China doesn't allow dual citizenship. |
Gu is so awesome she takes orders from CCP regarding what questions she can answer. You go girl! |
