There are very few posts about getting drunk in high school uniform. In fact, yours is the first, I think. We can feel nostalgic about old Georgetown shopping and hanging out without longing for the days when we were sexually harassed and date raped. -another Catholic schoolgirl |
| I can't believe I didn't see mention of Kemp Mill Records! We used to buy our concert tickets there. One time Eddie Murphy was signing albums there and I nearly got killed in a crowd crush. |
| Also Orpheus and Olssen's |

The gentleman standing on the corner of Wisconsin and M crooning, "He makes the ladies happy, he makes the children happy."
Yes! hippy dippy health food store on Wisconsin below M. The Childe Harold...or was that Dupont Circle? |
Child Harold was Dupont, but you reminded me of the French Market on Wisconsin above Q! |

I think it's a Nike store now. |
| Does anyone remember the diner that was where the Apple Store is? I think it was Boogies? I would go there often, somewhere I have a t-shirt. And if we're branching out into Foggy Bottom, did anyone else go to Mr Henry's in the early 90s? Run by the two brothers? I'm pretty sure it was where the Founding Farmers is now. They "carded" but I clearly remember bringing my boyfriend's 16yo cousin there back in the day. |
| The Fish Market! So much fun dancing to Billy Idol and Madonna. |
| The Tower Records in Foggy Bottom. I think it's where the CVS is now. |
|
Ah, the French Market! The best potato salad in this or any other universe.
And Georgetown Coffee, Tea, and Spice. Walls of candy. That place smelled soooo good. And what was the shop near the Christ Child Opportunity Shop that was a warren of little rooms with lampshades, trays, placemats, all the kinds of things old Georgetown would have around the house? |
Sexy as hell with the red drapes. Had a fabulous date there. Sigh. |
I drank there underage too! |
SAw Rocky Horror Picture Show there. So much fun. |

Mr. Smith's right on M. My first margarita!
Is Third Edition still on Wisconsin? It was there 15 years ago. |
