Bridesmaids

I am digging the elegant modesty, a lot of special detail but still minimal.

I agree! I actually really like the dresses that the bridesmaids are wearing.

I’m sorry that’s a scene of Divine in a John Waters film and you can’t tell me different

I don't know what that is but at their wedding reception there was some great fashion.

The Duke and Duchess of Anjou (France) - the wife is in Elie Saab

The reception gown of the bride

The black dress looks like an Adrianna Papell dress, tbh.

She looks great. Gorgeous!

She looks old. I don't know if it's the hair or the makeup or the grandma hostess gown, but the fact that she is only 40 proves boggles the mind.

What makes her look old? In fact, I think her skin looks pretty great considering her weight and her fairness. She looks amazing.

I’m really concerned when people say her skin looks good for 40. Maybe if she was 50.

What exactly are your concerns? She looks better than 99.9% of 40 year olds. If you disagree please specify why because I’m not seeing how she looks old, haggard and 50

I think it’s mostly the hairstyle, and maybe these particular pictures. She looks absolutely amazing in other pictures from this event.
(Maybe in the Cambridge forum?)

I think if you take any dress and get a photo in the perfect angle you can make it look good. This style is odd in a way I can’t quite put my finger on. The hairstyle is an nod to Princess Leia and it ages her. The dress looks like something, someone’s MIL would wear to a wedding reception.

A little too over the top for my tastes.

It needed less elaborate hair.

Hair and earrings are wrong, wrong, wrong. She could have used something around her neck. Who let her walk out with that hair though?

Hate to say it but I agree. I keep looking at this picture trying to figure out what isn't working. It's a great dress, she's gorgeous, but somehow the entire effect is very aging. I think you're right it's the hair - it makes it all seem very fussy and strangely old fashioned instead of hot, hip, and retro. Not that she needed to to overt sexy, but I think overt unsexy isn't working here.

Classic and casual. There’s a reason 90s fashion is coming back into style…

Seriously - she looks like she could be on a street style blog from today (if there were still blogs, help I am middle aged - a street style TikTok?).

I don't like the sequin dress Kate is wearing, it's giving me H&M cheapness. That said, she doesn't look old or haggard or whatever and trust me I am not a fan of her or Meghan.

I don’t like her dress but I like her husband, King Felipe, since he was a teen.

Is short hair ever going to make a come back?

Not all of them.

The Spanish royal family:

King Felipe doesn’t look like average people. He’s King Handsome.

Can we just not? Critique the fashion all you want, but she can’t help being born with her nose.

I’m about her age with similar coloring. My derm told me I had better skin than 95% of her patients. I wore sunscreen religiously. If you think this is old, you are basing your norms on images that have been photoshopped or people who have had work. That’s unhealthy. I feel sad for you.

A great example of how a plus size dress can be very simple. I hate that some many plus size bridal gowns are maximalist in the name of disguising the bride’s body.

I wish they’d done a better job with matching the undergarments to the dress and the fit. The puckering doesn’t look good on a regular dress, but this one is just devoid of anything to distract. I like the simplicity.
