Linda Evangelista says she is permanently deformed from CoolScupting

She's still beautiful, but she's 56. Them's the breaks.

I do feel badly for her about the cool sculpting. Terrible.

I cannot get over her getting on a cover and modeling grandma nursing home clothes. Linda, girl, they make cute clothes for fat people. Talk to Christian Siriano.

Duh unless she lives in a freezer eventually the fat will thaw

I can't believe people think stuff like this works

In the photos you can see the hardened bulge on her thighs and bra fat.

She honestly looks like your average 50-something. I hope she's getting therapy in addition to lawsuit money to help her with her body image issues. I'm sure it's difficult having once been the model of perfection and now being perfectly average.

I guess I kind of get it. She can't exercise or starve away her fat anymore and apparently plastic surgery doesn't work either.

Within three months after Evangelista's treatments, she started noticing bulges at her chin, thighs and bra area. The same areas she'd wanted to shrink were suddenly growing. And hardening. Then they turned numb.

"I tried to fix it myself, thinking I was doing something wrong," says Evangelista, and she began dieting and exercising more. "I got to where I wasn't eating at all. I thought I was losing my mind."

Finally, in June 2016 she went to her doctor. "I dropped my robe for him," she recalls. "I was bawling, and I said, 'I haven't eaten, I'm starving. What am I doing wrong?' " When he diagnosed her with Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), she says, "I was like, 'What the hell is that?' And he told me no amount of dieting, and no amount of exercise was ever going to fix it."

DP and while I totally get it, she ALSO totally needs therapy. I imagine it would be virtually impossible for someone whose entire life was built around not only her face looking a certain way, but around being rail-thin, to adapt to a change like this without professional help.

I also think considering this problem as one worthy of attention by society at large is… not accurate. Even for People, it’s absurd, given the state of the world right now.

This is what happens to some of those women who judge others for "letting themselves go." Eventually time or genetics catches up with you, and you might not be able to fix it with dieting or exercise and plastic surgery just makes it worse.

no, she doesn't.

It can’t help that her ex is happily married to one of the most beautiful women on earth who still looks amazing at 50+.

Ooop. And Salma Hayek is the same age as Linda lol.

I still thin she looks younger than 56. She doesn’t look like a supermodel but she looks pretty. I guess the main thing is that her fatty areas are hard, not soft which is physically uncomfortable.

Cool Sculpting = Mitch McConnell face. It happened to Linda, and it happened to a friend of mine. Just don't do it, people.

I think the bigger issue is depression and life style choices that got her to a place where she was fat in the first place.

Either she's genetically inclined to get huge as she ages or she starved herself so hard and so long that at the first sign of a good plate of food her fat cells hung on and never let go.

Personally I suspect the latter.

Or… Sometimes hormonal changes due to menopause make one pile on the lbs.

This would be a hard change for anyone, but working in the modeling industry for years- she would not have had an opportunity to build resilience to adversity/bodily changes/image differences.

And the irony is that had it worked- she never would have owned the surgery- just acted like it was natural/genetics/working out, thereby perpetuating bodyshaming/etc.

Sad this happened to her but maybe she can use this to do something worthwhile for others.

I saw the photo of her on People magazine’s webpage.

She does look like she is suffering from the opposite of what she likely intended to do.
I can believe that she lost tons of modeling gigs due to her disfigurement. 😢
I hope she gets her $50M from the company.

I am glad that she is speaking out & is tired of hiding.
What she has endured must be so rough - most especially for a former OG supermodel.
