coed sleepovers

Anonymous
There's another family in the neighborhood that we're close with and the kids have been asking for a joint sleepover.

4 kids from 6 to 9, 3 boys, 1 girl

Would you allow this?
Anonymous
No absolutely not.

Sleepover is not necessary.

All boys and one girls again no.

Who does this...

No. We don’t do co ed sleepovers, and it would be sad for the girl to be asked to sleep upstairs or separate if all her friends are sleeping together.

My DD9 has had a bunch of sleepovers with one of her oldest friends (a boy her age) and his younger sister. Never been an issue!

Totally would allow.

Similar situation, we've done that too. Now approaching puberty maybe would think twice, but these kids grew up together like siblings.

What’s the problem?

Yes I would do it! I remember doing coed sleepovers around that age. The coed thing stopped by middle school— then I just lots of all girls sleepovers!

What is the issue?

OP here and we could fit them all in one room, or we could separate them for sleeping if that was preferred.

Like the PP mentioned, these kids have grown up together and they're like siblings.

How old is the girl? If not the oldest then probably not.

Really don’t think it’s an issue either way. Maybe the girl would prefer more privacy— you could ask.

Younger than 10? I dont see the issue. Once they start hitting puberty its a different issue.
